Reunion of soulmates

Chapter 3

Avni smiles weakly and opened her arms for him, still lying down on the bed. Mowgli hugs her tightly while she caresses his hair. Neil who was standing at the door smiles by watching their bond but his smile immediately turns into a frown when he saw Avni's pale face.

Neilansh - Mumma are you unwell?

Avni - No baby, Mumma is fine.

Her gaze fell on Neil who was looking worried, she immediately lowers her gaze while Neil sits beside her.

Neil - What happened Sunheri? (Worried )

Sunheri - Actually Neil, Avni became unconscious yesterday due to weakness.

Neil looked at Avni in disbelief while she lowers her gaze.

Neil felt guilty for her condition and wanted to handover Neilansh's custody to Avni but he knew very well if he did this then he won't be able to find Avni's secret and what happened 10 years ago so he decided to keep Neilansh with himself. He felt ashamed for keeping his son away from his mother but he didn't have any other option left with him. His dad's words have scribbled an intense effect on his mind.

Neilansh- Mumma, why didn't you take care of yourself? I'm angry with you. (pout)

Avni chuckles.

Avni- Sorry baby. (while pulling her ears) I won't act carelessly now, I will take care of myself. Okay? (smiles)

Neilansh - Okay. (smiles)

Sunheri sensed that Neil wants to talk with Avni so she decided to give them some space.

Sunheri - Mowgli, don't you want to meet your friends?

Neilansh- I want to meet. (excitedly) Mumma, I will come back to you after some time. Okay? (innocently)

Avni - Okay. (smiles)

Mowgli and Avni left from there leaving Avneil alone. Both were sitting in awkward silence before Neil started the conversation.

Neil - You neglect your health due to this custody drama. (blankly)

Avni - No.. Neil, it's just...

Neil - No need to lie Avni, I already know it. (blankly)

Avni - It's very difficult for me. (small voice)

Neil - I can understand, I felt the same way when I got to know that Neilansh is our son. Do you even miss me when you were pregnant? (slightly teary eyes)

Avni - Your memories helped me to survive that phase, Neil. Your words, our moments everything that was buried deep within my heart gave me the courage to handle that situation alone. ( glassy eyes)

Neil - Do you never feel the urge to come back when you found about your pregnancy? Wasn't I worthy enough to help my wife during that crucial phase? Pamper her with all my love, fulfilling her demands, baring her tantrums, mood swings, taking her for regular treatments, holding her hand and soothing her with affection when she was screaming in pain for bringing the symbol of our love into this world, embracing the little soul within my arms protecting him from every danger, watching him grow in front of my eyes. Didn't I deserve all these small happy moments that I wanted to live with you? I never got a chance Avni. I always craved for these special moments but see how destiny crushed my dreams. (tears rolling down from his eyes)

Avni - You deserved every bit of it, Neil, every bit. When I got to know about my pregnancy, I wanted to go back to you but...

Neil - You already made your choice that you have nothing to do with me.
