Intimidation & Preparation

Kris' POV

_________

Kris woke up to his alarm going off realizing he fell asleep over at Susie's. He turned it off and rubbed his forehead then yawned getting out of bed. Toriel came in to get him ready for school. "Today's the winter semi-formal correct? We should get you one of Asriel's old button ups. Do you know who you're going to go to the dance with?" She asked her son. Kris scratched his cheek and thought to himself "I doubt Susie would go to something like that. She doesn't seem the dress type." Toriel started smiling "I think Susie would be happy if you asked her to go. I would love to see what kind of dress she would wear. I should ask her after school". They went to the kitchen to have a quick breakfast before heading off to school. Kris started thinking of seeing Susie in a dress. He felt his face grow warm at the thoughts and shook his head. Toriel stopped the car in her assigned spot and motioned Kris out. Susie was waiting in her usual leaned pose for them to show up and greeted the family.

Susie's POV

_________

She walked up to Kris and gave him a hug while giving him a playful noogie making him laugh happily at his best friend. "Ready to turn in that project? I finished it for us last night after you were in dream land." She grinned as she threw her arm over his shoulders and the two walked into the classroom. The whispers and murmurs from the students no longer bothered her but it still made Kris look down out of embarrassment which was the one thing that upset Susie the most. "Hey, you told me not to worry about what these punks say. Don't you be going against your own words, loser." Kris smiled and sat down at his desk beside Susie's.

Ms. Alphys walked in and started class. "A-alright everyone. Wh-who all has their projects d-done so far?" A few students raised their hands. Of course Berdly and Noelle had theirs raised with his snarky smile knowing no one else would be finished before he was. Susie confidently raised her hand higher than any of the students which was led with Kris raising his too. Ms. Alphys was shocked to see they had theirs finished but Berdly was in even more shock. "There's no way you losers finished your project a day before it's due! You probably just copied something off the internet and called it a project!" He said with disdain for the two outcasts as he labeled them. "N-now, Berdly. There's no n-need to be so rude to them. M-maybe they did finish their project." Ms. Alphys said to him. Susie grabbed a USB stick out of her jacket and gave it to Ms. Alphys to look over and read. "W-well this seems to be done w-with no pl-plagiarism as you assumed, B-Berdly. He scoffed at Susie and turned his head "You would do a project on something so medieval and stupid." He finished it off with some silent curses towards Susie. Kris felt a rage inside him he never felt before and walked over to Berdly's desk surprising everyone including Susie. He slammed his hand on Berdly's desk making him squawk in shock seeing Kris' hair move to where he saw a sinister glow from his crimson eye. "Shut your mouth Berdly. Don't you ever speak to Susie like that again." Berdly's body started to shiver after seeing such anger coming from the humans words.

Ms. Alphys softly touched Kris' shoulder and asked him to sit back down. "K-Kris it's okay. J-just go back to y-your seat." She talked to Berdly to let him know if this behavior towards them keeps up she'll have to deduct points from the next group project he does. Susie was in shock and awe of what Kris did. Usually that's something she would do, but seeing it come from her silent friend slightly gave her a twinge of concern. She sat back down next to Kris and just looked at him. He didn't say anything for the rest of the school day.

Kris' POV

_________

Kris was thinking to himself about what had transpired. "What just happened back there? I just got in his face and now Susie is probably thinking I'm a freak like everyone else does. Damnit Kris what is wrong with you?" He kept shaking the thoughts away and waited outside for Susie to show up and talk to her about it. His mother came out of the building and sat next to Kris on the bench. "Alphys told me about what happened with one of your classmates. Kris, child are you okay? You are never the one to be angry towards anyone." Kris immediately hugged her and started softly sniffling. He was scared about what happened. He felt his SOUL had started beating quickly. If his mother could see it she would be freaking out.

Susie interrupted the hug by throwing her arms over both of them. "Yo, dork. What was all that with Nerdly about? You scared him so bad he didn't leave his seat for, like, ten minutes or something. Besides that crap, I need to talk with your mom. Need some advice for the dance tonight. Mind if I come over for a few?" Toriel said it was okay and that she would help her with whatever it was she needed. "So you two are going to the dance? Oh, that's wonderful! I told you she would want to go with you, Kris." She hugged them and they left to head to the house.

When they got to the house, Kris went up to his room to change into his brothers old button up black and gray shirt with some nice blue jeans. He looked at himself in the mirror and did the little finger gun he used to do back in the Dark World and shot a quick smile. He went to the bathroom to brush his teeth and hair to make sure he looks as presentable as he can. He sat in the living room after finishing his routine to wait for Susie and his mother to come downstairs to get ready for the dance.

Susie's POV

_________

Toriel sat down on her bed and motioned Susie over "So what is it you need help with, my child? Do you not have anything to wear to the dance?" Susie nodded embarrassingly. "I'm not one for dresses so my father never bought one for me cause I always told him it's not my style. But I have a reason to dress up now. I want to impress Kris." Toriel squealed happily and immediately went to her wardrobe to pick out a simple dress for her. "Lucky for you, sweetie, I have a few dresses from my high school days. So I should be able to get one that should most likely fit you no problem." After about fifteen minutes of searching she brought out four different colored dresses for Susie to try out. "these were the only ones I had gotten and never used again since I grew out of them after graduating. So they should fit you!"

After trying all the dresses out, Susie was indecisive on which one would match her body color and type. "I don't know Toriel. I can't choose which one matches me." She looked down and sighed. Toriel placed her hand on Susie's shoulder "I think the gray and blue striped one would work perfectly with the shirt I picked for Kris. It's the same dress as the one I wore for Asriel's graduation, so I think that one would look beautiful." Susie grinned and nodded at her. She quickly went into the large wardrobe and changed into the dress. After twenty minutes of struggling and adjusting she came out and Toriel nearly teared up at the sight of her dress being in use again. "Oh, dear you look wonderful! Your dad would love to see this. Let's take a quick picture together and show it to him." Susie kind of felt indifferent. "Are you sure about that? It's kinda tight around the chest." Susie exclaimed. "Oh nonsense, child. It looks nothing but presentable! Now let's fix your hair and get you ready." They took a quick snap and started to walk downstairs where Kris was patiently waiting.

Kris' POV

_________

Kris heard the couple of footsteps of slippers and heels coming down the stairs and turned around to see what must have been the most gorgeous monster he ever laid eyes on in his entire life. Susie had her hair tied back in a neat ponytail with her bangs brushed to the side to show off her golden midday sun eyes. He could feel his jaw mentally drop in complete awe at the transformation his mother did to his friend. "Stop looking at me like that, loser! It's only for tonight!" Susie remarked. Kris shook his head back to reality and smiled "You look great, Susie. That actually suits you." Susie blushed and looked to Toriel where she was just smiling at the two. "Now let's get a quick picture of you two so I can make copies for us to remember this night." She took her phone and had Susie stand next to Kris to pose for a few quick photos. Once she finished she hurried them to the car so she can drop them off at the school for their first date as she called it.
