Thank you @etherealyan for the feedback on my story! I'm glad you think "the princess and the Devil was interesting and fun to read!

Donnie's POV

I stroked Raven's hair as she leaned back into my chest, her body in between my legs. The two of us have been sitting in silence in her room at her father's house for the last few hours. She refused to talk about what happened while she was taken. I knew not to push her but I didn't want her to have to deal with this all alone. That's what she originally did. She never told me about Simon hurting her. When I found out it as already months into the beatings and she loved him so she couldn't bring herself to leave him. "Raven? We've been sitting here for a few hours now, are you ready to talk?"

She sighed. "What do you wanna know?"

"If you're okay?" I asked wrapping my arms around her.

She grabbed my hands. "I am but only because I know he can never hurt me again. I've never had someone save me the way Xavier did and not that you didn't try but there wasn't much you could do at 17."

"Then what's wrong?" I asked. She rolled over to lay her cheek on my chest. I gently rubbed her back. "Raven, the last time we laid like this was on your 16th birthday. So tell me what's wrong?"

"I love Xavier and I'm happy to spend the rest of my life with him."

"But?"

"I'm never gonna be a wife."

"What are you-"

She got up off my lap and started walking back and forth in front of the bed. "All my life I've always dreamed of my wedding. Mama walking me down the aisle, you and maggie being my bridesmaids," she started. I chuckled. "Well, you would be my dude of honor of course. I've always wanted a stupid expensive big white dress, eating a bunch of cake, and then dancing the night away with the man I love. They don't do weddings. They mate and that's all."

I sighed. I scooched to the edge of the bed and grabbed her hands to stop her from pacing. "Oh little bird, you have real and true love. A wedding is just an event and as fun of an event as they are, you don't need one to prove your love and commitment to each other."

She sighed. "I know," she whispered pinching my cheek. I ran my finger down her spine knowing it calms her down. "I'm just ranting about nothing," she chuckled. "I'm gonna go find Piper."

"Okay," I said. She smiled and kissed my cheek. She snapped her fingers and teleported downstairs. I leaned back on my arms. "You can come in now Xavier."

The door opened up and he walked in. "How'd you know I was there?"

"I heard a noise and I kinda assumed it was you listening in. I thought you, Lorenzo, and Serena were out on a run?"

"We were," he said, leaning against the door. "We just got back and I wanted to see Raven. I'm sorry for eavesdropping but I know she'd never tell me all this."

"Like she said, she was just ranting."

"I don't think she was," he said quietly. "But I'll figure something out."

I stood up. "Well while you do that i'm gonna go see my girl."

I started walking to the door. "Hey, Donnie?" I turned around and raised my eyebrow. "Serena and I have been alive for centuries. She's never really had a friend outside Lorenzo and me and she certainly hasn't had a man in her life. She's never really connected with anyone the way she has with you. Yeah, you're her mate but she feels comfortable to be herself around you." I looked at him confused. He sighed running his hand through his hair. "Look what i'm trying to say is, you're really good for my sister so don't fuck it up with her."
