Intimidating

Baby Fever

Panting the she wolf ran as fast and hard as she could clutching her new born son to her chest, after just giving birth her pain increasing with every movement goddess save him she pleaded in her mind. The lone she wolf had given birth on the forest floor, the blood thirsty creature must have heard her screams and smelt the blood she had wiped not fully off her baby boy. The vampire had gotten a few wounds in before she escaped, she had to protect her boy. There was nowhere to go just keep running until she could no longer.
Weakly she collapsed, cradling the boy she lay him on the forest floor covering him partially with leaves "please goddess protect him" she cried softly after kissing the now crying child's face, crawling away she got to her feet and walked farther away from the child "kill me not him! Take me you bastard!" She screamed and sobbed.
The creature appeared behind her quickly, swiftly sinking his fangs into her draining her slowly and snapping her neck. The she wolf collapsing to the ground, the last sound she heard the crying of her new born baby.
Few hours later

This morning was quite eventful I made breakfast, introduced my friends to the pack and got to flaunt my mark from last night making the jealous pack members even more jealous.
My friends had retreated to their rooms doing who knows what, Accalia was in the office speaking with our head of patrols.
Then there's me doing absolutely nothing.
Maybe I'll go for a run, I'm bored.
Once I got outside I shifted and trotted into the woods after a few minutes I reached a border of our territory and sat sniffing the air and listening to the wind blowing the tree branches, I had smelled a weird scent, blood. Lots of blood, the smell now overtook my nose I groaned and snorted. Then the soft sound of a cry, a babies cry. A baby? How the hell. Of course investigate I scoffed to myself, I stepped out of our border and followed the smell and the screeching of the baby.
The amount of horror I felt at the sight, my heart rammed against my chest as I let out a whimper. A woman, dead eyes wide open glossed over bloody, too bloody; I still heard the baby snapping me out of my thoughts "I'll find who did this and I'll protect that baby for you" I said to the body.
Immediately trotted to the screams, it was still a bit away.
I had reached the child, covered in leaves and blood most likely remains from the womb. I brushed the leaves off with my muzzle a baby boy I noticed he had stopped his wailing, his eyes still closed but he was squirming a bit. He must be freezing and uncomfortable, I know this is gross but necessary I licked him as clean as I could spitting the blood out. I shifted and picked him up bringing him close to my bare chest hopefully my wolf temperature can warm him up quickly, I observed him he was absolutely adorable a pale boy with white hair, I wonder what color his eyes are still not opened. His dead mother had one green and one brown eye, I felt a deep sorrow for the rogue and this little one who was abandoned. "You're a cute one aren't you, don't worry I'll keep you safe" I whispered as I walked back to my territory staring at the little one, he finally opened his eyes looked right at me. Red, his eyes were a beautiful red I stared into them he made a little sound and I giggled at him. Accalia, bring me clothes please and I need a blanket I have a surprise for you I linked and walked into the pack house into the living room still holding the baby close to my chest he had fallen asleep. Accalia came into the living room with a blanket and clothes she immediately threw them onto the couch next to me and rushed to me "what is that? Is that a baby!?" She said quietly "yes" I nodded and smiled at the little sleeping one in my arms "where the hell did you get a baby from!?" She looked a little upset "his mom was killed.. beyond our border. I found him there I couldn't just leave him, I promised to protect him." I said "but.." she started "no but's, I'm adopting him. Now you're gonna be a mom, or be mateless!" I growled lowly. I knew she was gonna say get rid of him, how could I ever? His parents were rogues so what. I will keep him safe I don't break promises he's my responsibility now. She looked at me defeated and unfolded the blanked and lay it on couch "you know how to swaddle?" She asked me "I think so, those family videos on YouTube taught me a lot" I chuckled and lay the little one on the blanket not waking him and wrapping him up, I smiled at my success and handed him to Accalia. She held him carefully and looked him over as I got dressed "okay give me give me" I say as I take him from her arms "he is cute, white hair though that's very rare" she said and sat with me on the couch as we looked at him "his eyes are red... he's an albino" I whisper and she giggled, I looked to her and smiled. She kissed my cheek "looks like I need to go buy baby stuff, diapers, formula" she waved her hands around and rolled her eyes. I watched as she got up from the couch she turned to me "you have sex ONCE, now I have a son" she sighed and I let the loud laugh erupt from my throat, that woke the little one who made a small whimper sound I shushed him and rocked him slightly "you better hurry to the store, he's hungry" I stated she rushed to the stairs.
I heard another pair of footsteps coming down the stairs it was Ella, she spotted me and her eyes grew wide her mouth fell open. She rushed to me and stared "when I asked about kids I didn't mean go out and get one the next day" she almost shouted and covered her mouth when the baby squirmed "sit, he was abandoned... I found his moms body." I said sadly she sat next to me "oh my goodness that's awful" she said looking at the child still "he's ours now" I smiled softly "does he have a name?" She asked quickly "no... not sure what I should name him" I replied, I couldn't think of a suitable name "I want something unique like him" I thought for a bit "Rehan" I smiled, Ella looked at me like I had four heads.  She sighed "Rehan, Hi Rehan! I'm auntie Ella" she said quietly to the baby. I was happy she approved and I hoped Accalia approved of the name as well.
I had gone to my bedroom with Rehan, he was awake but quiet. I watched and talked to him quietly. I'm home love I heard Accalia's voice I'm in our room with the baby, bring a bottle please I placed a pillow on the other side of him so he doesn't roll over, "little man is hungry" I said quietly too him his eyes met mine "you're a pretty boy, beautiful eyes" I smiled to him "I'm your new mommy. I hope I do a good job, I'll love you and protect you" I said softly putting my pinky into his small hand and he held it gently I smiled harder his little fingers so fragile and soft.
Accalia came into the room aggressively dropping two boxes of diapers on the floor and handing a small bottle to me huffing "why do you look so stressed?" I chuckled taking the bottle and placing it to Rehan's lips so he could latch to the teat "I didn't know what formula to get, I didn't know how small he was in diapers" she climbed into the bed and watched me feed him "it'll be fine, he likes it. If the diapers don't fit we'll take them back" I stated "I'll take them back" she snorted "yes... his names Rehan" I smiled to her "I like it" she smiled "you're sure you want a baby?" She asked smiling to me "is anyone ever sure?" I smiled back "I'm not sure" she sighed "well I'm positive I will do my best to be a good mom to him" I chuckled "I'll try too, he might like you better though" she laid next to him "hey baby boy, I hope you're prepared for a crazy life." She touched his hair gently and smiled.
I loved her more in that moment. 
Not what I was expecting, but I know I'm willing. I have more to fight for now.
We're a family.
