What a Koopa is Thankful for: a Peachette and Roy Thanksgiving fanfiction

Chapter 1: arrival at Peach's castle + prepping for turkey time

*ahem* Today, our story begins on November 28th, 2019, in the gorgeous, overpopulated Mushroom Kingdom and everyone, and everything, is all abuzz. Toads are decorating their homes to get into the holiday spirit. Others are shopping last minute for a delicious turkey to complete their thanksgiving feasts. Pretty much everyone was excited for the holiday; that time of year where you get to eat and spend time with family and friends, and it was all out of love.

But, let's veer away from the town and to our favorite heroes, and heroines. Princess Peach's castle was infested with decorations for the holiday; the crisp, autumn leaves were on the side of the castle's pathway, acting like grass almost. There was also a Thanksgiving wreath (they don't just sell those around Christmastime, y'know.), matched with bright thanksgiving lights. Her castle looked like a Thanksgiving feast itself.

The Super Mario Squad (consisted of Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, Yoshi, Rosalina and Donkey Kong) were prepping for the 25th annual Mushroom Kingdom Thanksgiving feast, where everyone from kingdoms and cities far and wide come to join the festivity. It's pretty obvious that the gang have been planning this party for months, probably a year even. The gang was pretty much assigned jobs of their own; Mario and Luigi were fixing the castle's two entrance pipes to have red, orange and yellow confetti come out of them when he guests arrive, Wario and Rosalina were setting the table, Waluigi was cleaning the castle with the help of the burly DK, and our damsels in success, Peach and Daisy were cooking the food for the feast. Peach was baking the desserts while Daisy did the cooking, with the help of Toad and Toadette. Yoshi, however, had the most fun, simple job out of everyone: being the test tester for the dinner AND the desserts!

"Hmm..", Yoshi mumbled, tasting the custard cream for Peach's famous cake, the one she bakes for Mario every time he rescues her (if you played Super Mario 64, you'll know what I'm talking ab.). Peach looked up at her Dino friend with a flour-covered nose, "how's the frosting ,Yoshi? is it sweet enough for your satisfaction?" The pink princess asked, with a sweet smile spread across her face.

Yoshi licked his lips, but his expression was mixed with satisfaction and unsatisfaction. "It needs a little more sugar- NOT TOO MUCH!" Yoshi pinched his thumb and index finger together. "Just a pinch more, if that's okay?" Peach smiled sincerely. "Of course! Daisy, pass the sugar when you get a chance."

Daisy was busy making the gravy for Turkey and mashed potatoes. "Sorry Peachy, I'm busy making the gravy. Maybe Yoshi can be a doll and get it for ya." She raised her eyebrows and Yoshi and tilted her head to the very top shelf of baking supplies; there was the sugar.

Yoshi rolled his eyes and groaned with frustration. "Ugh, are you kidding me, Daisy?! You can take a break, and I can do the gravy!"

"No. Sorry to say, pal, but," She paused for a moment to think of what she was about to say, then she goes back to finishing her sentence. "I don't trust you with the gravy." She purposely smirks at Yoshi to get arise out of him.

Yoshi growled. "You're the worst."

"Love you too, my Dino friend." Daisy smiled.

Yoshi gets up from his stool and walks carefully to the baking supplies shelf, as to not disturb the princess's cooking. When he finally reaches the shelf, he stops in his tracks. Where is the damn sugar, he thought to himself. He was looking high, but not that high, and low but the sugar was nowhere to be found. Yoshi groans with frustration, again, and plops down on the floor with his hands covering his face.

"Yoshi!" Peach called.

Yoshi raises his head up quick. "I don't know where the sugar is!"

Peach giggled. She walked over to Yoshi and strokes his cheek lovingly (in a friend way, relax.). "The sugar is up there!" She points to the very top of the shelf; He didn't even realize.
