Fear....
It's something that slowly creeps up on you. If you let it take over..it can drown you. What was there to be afraid of?
Loss?
Failure?
Safety?
All of them actually, it was a short list...but just the three sent Eleanor into the drowning waters of fear.
She sat alone in her bedroom at home in sweatpants. Oh sweatpants are a girl's best friend, they're like a safety net. That with a bag of chips.
Eleanor sat in her room eating her life away while watching some pokétube. Mostly makeup tutorials, and gamer videos. She had the shades down hiding from the sun. Her room being pitch black, with the only light coming from her laptop. She ignored the worried looks she got from her mother, she didn't want to explain herself because she didn't want to relive the pain. She didn't tell her mom the full story of what happened, just said that it didn't work out and she wanted to be alone. All she had was Silver by her side to comfort her, to lay there with her and eat together. It's all who she wanted was Silver.
She also ignored the phone calls she would receive from her friends, they didn't understand her pain...no one did. Her mom was free from her job so she had the time to watch over her daughter, but still Eleanor refused not wanting to be a bother. Days were lonely all she could think about was everything she was missing out on. The last showcase before the master class was on tv but she changed the channel not wanting to see it, all those girls she was letting down. She couldn't help but think about it so that's why she had to change the channel. Soon she was going to be missing the master class as well, along with the pokemon league. She had a feeling she would of won...or at least made it to the semi-finals. She flicked through channels wanting to distract her mind, she dropped the remote at the sound of her bedroom door opening.
"Turn it back." Her mother said firmly. Eleanor looked at her with shock then rolled her eyes shaking her head.
"I'm not watching it...you can't make me watch it." Eleanor pouted and her mother scoffed. Her mother walked over to her daughter grabbing the remote changing the channel to the showcase.
"You live under my roof...so my rules. All I'm asking is for you to watch it." Her mother said catching a glimpse of the showcase and she saw what the performers were doing. She wanted to make sure Eleanor saw this as well.
Eleanor could only glare are her mother her eyes straining from forcing them to look away from the tv. The urge was too strong so she snuck a glance. Her eyes widened when she noticed it was Serena performing...
"W-what?" Eleanor sat up looking more closely noticing her outfit was designed like a cheerleader, with the back of the outfit had the letter E initial. She was dancing with poms poms while her pokemon performed.
"She did this for you....everyone who performed had a performance that was dedicated to you. You have started this revolution Eleanor. You leaving the fight, has taught these performers to now fight for themselves, but they still need you." Her mother spoke to her bringing her daughter in close rubbing her back trying to be supportive the best she could.
Eleanor sighed enjoying the warmth that her mother had. It was very comforting..she felt safe, in her mind she knew her mother was right but she wasnt going to be selfish and let her loved ones get hurt. "Like you said...they learned how to fight for themselves...so they should continue to do so." She pulled out of her mother's arms rolling over in the bed showing that she once again wanted to be alone. Her mother frowned hoping seeing this would spark something in her child, but she was truly broken. She left the room granting her daughter's wish.
