I was nervous, there were too many worries running around in my head, and this time they were not about my uncle. Would Jayden even like what I was wearing? What was he wearing? Did I look like I was trying too hard? Everyone had arrived before and I spotted the group sitting at a table and eating fries.I noticed the girl seated next to Jayden, she threw back her head as if Jayden had just something so hilariously funny to her. That must have been Rachel and now I knew I had a reason to be worried. As I walked closer, I noticed how beautiful she was, her long soft brown hair reached her back, her skin was clear and bright, and her eyes. Wow, her eyes were definitely her selling point.. They were bright blue and doll-sized. I felt a lot smaller, and worried that all the planning I had done for my outfit wouldn't match-up to Rachel's beauty.

"Hey guys", I said waving awkwardly. I was even more shocked to see how beautiful Rachel was up close, her skin was flawless and she had cute freckles that decorated her porcelain skin. I didn't think she was wearing any makeup.. I suddenly felt self conscious and my face might've gone redder than the bright red lipstick I was wearing.

"Sajal, you're here", Jayden said getting up. He pulled me in for a hug and I felt tingles run down my back. "You look really nice", he said looking at me from top to bottom. I felt some of my lost confidence come back.

"Oh, by the way. This is my friend Rachel I was telling you about".

"Hi, It's nice to meet you. You're a lot prettier than Jayden described." she said, giving me a hug. She could've been simply complimenting me, but right now since she was my competing rival I would have to take her words with a grain of salt.

"And this is Hany", Jayden said, reaching out towards the third person who was sitting with them. I was too focused on Rachel and Jayden together that I didn't even bother noticing him before.

"Oh sorry. Hi Hany", I said, a little embarrassed for not previously acknowledging him.

"What are you sorry for? Pfft. You're definitely a lot prettier than Jayden said", she said laughing. Hany had a boyish face and curly black, he wasn't exactly handsome but he had a childish charm to him. Jayden grabbed my hand and I got butterflies all over again. He smiled at me, successfully melting my heart into a puddle of goop. " Sajal, you hungry? Did you eat something before coming"? he asked.

My legs felt all wobbly. To think that Jayden was worrying about whether I ate or not."No, I'm good. Let's go and have some fun" I said excitedly.

When the concert was finally over we all came out of the stadium feeling euphoric and slightly deaf.

"Wow. That was amazing, but I can't even hear myself anymore", Rachel squealed.

"Sajal, how'd you like it? Since it was your first-ever concert.," Jayden asked me as we all walked down the block.

"I loved it. It couldn't have been any better. Especially, because I went with you" I latched myself onto his arm, my cheeks blush pink and the cheesiness of my own comment.

"Oh my God! You guys are soo cute!", Rachel said jumping up and down. "Look Hany, I haven't seen Jayden this smug in such a long time, right?"

"Yeah. Jayden's always happy as long as he got his girl in his arms", Hany said with a wink.

My heart became a world-class gymnast doing back flips and handstands inside my chest. I stood up with my back a bit taller, my ego being fed through all the compliments. Maybe I didn't have to worry about Rachel, she seemed to be genuinely happy for us. Like a woman blinded by love, walking down the romantic streets of Paris on a cool summer night I held on to Jayden, his body like a magnet with immaculate power. Rachel and Hany kept going on about how amazing the performance was with all flashing lights but their words flew over my head. All I could hear was the beating of my own heart and its imminent threats of jumping right out of my body.
