You stare down into the lake of the forest, tears in your silver slitted eyes. Your long forced tongue flickered passed your lips, your short (Sorry to anyone who has long hair) black hair falling into your eyes. The moon light peeked through the blinds into your room, lighting up the dark green scales that peppered your pale skin. You stare down at a scale on your right arm, letting your tears slowly fall. You were a freak. That's how you felt. Anyone you met either bullied you, or ran in fear. All you wanted was to experience what it was like to be normal. Or at least, completely human. You take your clawed hand, digging your claws under the scale, ripping it out of your skin. You cry out in pain as blood trickled down your arm, drops of it landing in the clear water of the lake below. You watched as your blood slowly mixed with the water. You hug yourself, letting the blood continue to trickle down your body. You continue to cry silently, ignoring the stinging pain in your arm. You gently rub your arm, just above where you ripped off your scale. You felt so... alone in the world. You quickly stop your sobs when you hear something move behind you. Something... big. You quickly turn around, your eyes met with a pair of stunning golden eyes. The... thing... before you had large, muscular arms that were folded tightly over his broad and muscular chest. His hair was a ghostly white, and his fingers were clawed, like yours. What really shocked you was the snake tail that was connected to his lower abdomen. The scales on the tail were blacker then night and looked as smooth as the water of the lake. He raises an eyebrow, staring at your bleeding arm. "What happened to your arm kid?" He asks, his voice smooth and dark, like chocolate. You don't respond as you take a few steps back so you're now wading in the lake. He walks... well... slithers closer to you, his arms still folded over his chest. "What's wrong kid?" He smirks slightly. "Scared of snakes?" You give him an unamused look as you cover your wound more. He looks down at your bloody scale that was on the sandy beach of the lake. "Did you rip it off?" He asks, referring to your bloody arm. "That's none of your concern..." You whisper in a very soft voice. His eyes widen slightly, making nerves fill your body. "Y-You should leave..." You whisper. "Why?" He asks, moving closer. "I'm a monster..." You sigh, turning away from him. "You're a monster?" He ask before laughing. "Kid, have you looked at me? I'm not exactly your every day joe." You turn back to him, tears filling your eyes. He stops smiling. "Hey, you alright?" He asks softly, moving closer again. He was only a foot away from you now. You remain silent as you look out towards the lake. He gently picks up your bloody, green scale and washes it in the water of the lake so it was completely cleaned off. You look away from him, your tongue flickering passed your lips. Your eyes widen slightly as you smell something surprisingly sweet. You look over at the... naga... realizing it was coming from him. "What's your name kid?" He asks, staring down at your scale. "(Y-Y/N)..." You whisper, feeling slightly more comfortable with him. "Huh. Nice to meet you (Y/N). I'm Hunter." He smiles slightly at you, making a strange, warm feeling in your chest. He looks at your arm, knitting his eyebrows. "Does it hurt?" He asks softly. You look at him in surprise. "W-What?" You ask, slightly shocked. "Does it hurt?" He repeats. "A-A little..." You whisper. He gently moves your arm from your wound, which hasn't stopped bleeding. "I... can patch that up if you want." He smiles kindly. You nervously bite your lip before gently nodding. He smiles and holds out his hand for you to take. Shaking slightly, you take it and follow him into the forest. For the first time in years, you didn't feel alone in the world.
