The light seemed to flow brighter, and brighter as her puffy hair seemed to float upwards as she and White's gem ended up in a observatory of some sort. There was a blue crystal dome shining in a daylight that looked absolutely stunning, as she couldn't seem to step off of the warp pad, that seemed to reflect the curious but painful looking face. There were some plants and gardening tools, and shuffling could be heard from outside the door, as Spinel backed a step away from shock of the ear-grinding noise. Mumbles could be heard from outside and she just limped off, dragging the gem along with her. She was just waiting until the door opened until she could see the being who it was out there, or 'beings'.
She heard the door creak open and was relieved to see the beings that were Pearl and Steven, who seemed to be investigating the noise that meant that the warp pad was activated. They came to figure out who did it. She shifted uncomfortably before wincing in pain, smiling to see her friends while looking at White's gem.
Steven and Pearl waved back happily, and their sigh of relief was interrupted by the sight of the humongous gem that stood before them. It was unbelievable. White Diamond poofed?! It was almost impossible. Spinel was waving, but then her eyes fell dull while clutching her gem, and then she fell back to the floor, seemingly unconscious, even though her eyes were open, but dull and tired. The rainbow gem stopped glowing and floating, and it fell to the floor with a large and audible "Clank!!" In the flooring. It was still shifting into beautiful colors, but just not happily.
"Spinel!"
Both Steven and Pearl said in harmony. They both rushed to her and while Pearl carried Spinel as Steven rushed to White Diamond's gem, and something felt wrong. He bubbled it just in case, and it also felt like a right decision too. The bubble made the gem feel somewhat lighter, but Steven had quite the struggle to even carry it down the wooden stairs and place it on the floor. Pearl placed Spinel on the couch gently and her sight wandered to her gem by instinct. She let out an audible gasp while she guestured for Steven to come along and look at it. This earned a suprised reacton from Steven as well.
"Oh my god! What in the name of White Diamond has happened to her gem?"
Steven said panicky. Pearl soothed him down a bit by patting him on the back before telling him something. She looked directly at him and she said in a calming voice,
"Steven, you have healing powers! I'm sure you can make this right, can't you?"
She said gently. Steven looked at her happily before having a realization of hope. He looked at Spinel's gem and then the rainbow crystal he gave her the day he visited the Diamonds and
Spinel right after the day she went with them. He noticed changed from the last week by looking at her and her outfit. For some reason, the tear marks looked longer and thicker, and it looks very recent. On otherwise, her pigtails were the slightest bit spiky, and then everything looked rounded and fluffy, and even parts of her hair were slightly covering her other eye, which was still visible through the small amount of hair. She had a thicker and more prettier application of mascara that looked somewhat cute. Her uniform looked a bit lighter but still a somewhat cool magenta. It looked like Pink Diamond's uniform but mich different, like the diamond that was on the stomach was on the chest part, showing Spinel's cracked gem. She had fluffy, but more pointy shorts, and a lighter magenta skirt that was a bit puffy and clear. Her boots seemed to look sort of the same, but they had many eyes and the point seemed to lessen, and they don't also seem to be that pointed, even though they still are. She didn't have the pointy sleeves anymore, but they were more like a t-shirt type, and a bit loose and they look very comfortable. There were puffy, long sleeves that extended from them, covering most over Spinel's hands which seemed to have new gloves that showed her fingers using holes, and they were the color black, like his new shirt. Moving back up to her fluffy hair, she seemed to have ties this time, but they were no ordinary ties. They seemed to complement each other, even though they were different. One was an upside down heart and the tie had darker shades, while the other one was a normal heart, and used much lighter shades.
But enough about detail, Steven looked once more at the crystal and brushed off a strange feeling he had. He moved over closed and kissed her gem. It glowed the cracks disappeared, but the gem still didn't look very good. Steven backed away as her dull and dead eyes of hoplessness filled with sparkles and life as the rainbow crystal shined brightly, floating as Spinel seemed to bolt upright, and after looking at a excited Steven and a relieved Pearl, her face started to fill up with confusion.
"I.. wha... what just happened?"
Spinel said, her eyes directing onto the bubbled, huge gem on the floor. Her eyes filled with memory and realization while she has a million questions about what just happened...back there. She sighs with relief as she remembers that she is ok now, while looking at her glowing gem and crystal shining in beautiful harmony, and she looks happily at Steven and Pearl with a cute and happy smile while closing her eyes in delight.
"Thanks you guys!"
She said, calmly and cutely. Steven hugs her, to Spinel's surprise, and Pearl chimed in happily too. She then hugs them back, but not stretching her arms since she has learned from the past that it makes them uncomfortable. Pearl smiles at her happily.
"Well, we would do anything for a friend."
Pearl said comfortingly to Spinel, before letting go, as Steven and Spinel did at the same time. She grinned happily, glad to know that she had friends other than the faker. But she still didn't think that White did such a thing on her own, and that something was wrong with one of her best friends.
"What happened with urm... White.."
He looked at the large diamond on the floor for a second.
"Before you got here..?"
Steven asked carefully and pretty slowly. Spinel sighed as she also looked at the gem. She then looked at her gem, and thought about the powerful weapon that was secretly contained inside. A part of her didn't want to share the action packed story, but the Crystal Gems were her friends, so they deserve to know. They cared about her, and she cared about them even more than they thought. She looked at both with cute, determined eyes, and they looked back with an interested and expectant look.
"Fineee.. Ok. Soo..."
She explains with a calm look, but then she looks a bit sad in some moments, but she explained with a worried smile. Steven and Pearl looked completely shocked by the story that they were totally not expecting. Spinel was suprised by the sudden silence and reactions, as thousands of questions flow into their minds.
"How did you feel? Was it exciting, but was it shocking? Oh my stars this is so weird!?"
Steven chimed in, asking so many questions about her feelings with a sparkly look in her eye, and it reminded Spinel of her past self the smallest bit. Oh.... even though she was changed, one thing hasn't changed from her. She absolutely hated her past self, and she wanted her to disappear forever. When will she stop being reminded by that absolute fool?! Aside the point, she started to answer his questions, but then Pearl interrupted her answers.
"Well, I didn't feel-"
"How did you poof a diamond while them fighting you? But White Diamond? You're on a whole different level! How was this even possible?! Also, how did your magic and purpose even change with the weapon? How can it suddenly be a part of you? Also, time stop?!! Hhhhhhhhhggggg..."
Pearl interrupted into a series of mind boggling questions that Spinel didn't even know how to answer even though it happened to her, and she did it. She felt like this was overwhelming her somehow, but she didn't want to let her poor friends down. What kind of friend would she be if she did?! Well, sadly she has too, since she doesn't know very well how much that stuff even actually happened, and it was almost like a dream or nightmare, and she didn't know what to do!
"Well urm.. I don't know, and... gee, these are so many questions!"
She let out a small, half hearted, soft laugh, and Steven and Pearl looked at her apologetically. They had soft, kind looks on their faces and burst out with laughter. A small second later, Spinel started laughing as well, greatful for all the great and amazing friends she has. At least they aren't hurt, and it's because she poofed White Diamond, but she had the sneaking suspicion that she wasn't the one in control, and something was wrong. But after the nice, long break of laughter, they stopped. They both sat on the couch, each beside one side of Spinel.
They all chatted for a moment, and all the weird ruckus seemed to have awakened Amethyst who was randomly sleeping next to the entrance of the stairs. The others on the couch all looked over to the gem who was grumbling while her eyes blinked open setting the sight to the bubbled and humongous gem on the floor.
"Wha..Woah WOAH. What is... WHITE DIAMOND'S GEM?!"
She said ablaze, quickly standing up and backing against up the wall. This seemed to surprise Amethyst as she seemed jumpy, and then her wavering and shocked eyes seemed to wander over to the giggling trio on the couch. She had a confused look on her face before joining them on the couch. She whispered to Steven very loudly, so that even Pearl and Spinel could hear.
"Soo... ya finally decided to poof the large bag o potatoes?"
Amethyst whispered loudly. The trio looked at her, then Spinel, and then giggled once more. Amethyst also didn't seem to notice that Spinel was actually here, so she gave a slight wave of coolness before Spinel saluted back to one of her good friends.
"Actually, Spinel did."
Steven said, causing Amethyst to look at Spinel with sparkly eyes. Spinel giggled shortly, before waving her hand once more.
"Here, let me explain."
Spinel said shortly afterwards, then continuing to explain then. Spinel smiled slightly at the amazed gem, as she was about to ask about a billion questions, but Steven quickly stopped her from doing so, since he told her she didn't know anything that just happened. A short while afterward, Garnet came back from a stroll on the beach for some 'me' time. She waved at Spinel, and looked at the floor. As to be expected, the bubbled diamond was there. She sighed.
"Out of the thousands of possibilities, this one happened..There were a handful with Spinel, but only one with the diamond. I ignored it, thinking it was a possibility that was created by my imagination... but... here we are."
She said calmly while pulling a chair close to the couch and sitting on it, her legs crossed. Spinel knew she didn't have to explain to her, since she definitely already knew everything. She looked away, with a tinge of guilt on her face as Garnet sighed once more. There was one thing that she didn't mention, and sadly... Garnet knows about it.
"Spinel, can I talk to you for a moment?"
She said, gesturing to the door out into the sun falling down from the clear blue sky. Spinel paused a bit, thinking, and then she nodded slowly, following the fusion to the door before smiling at the gang sitting on the couch, waving as they waved back. She walked as she heard the door shut behind her, as they walked down the steps, and it could be heard, echoing into Spinel's wandering mind as they arrived on the beach. She stepped on the shore, as the cool and salty water washed over her boots, as the ocean seemed to welcome her somehow, the feeling of the sand pulling away from her under her boots. It was a satisfying feeling, and then she noticed the reflection on the crystal clear water surface.
She looked much different, very different. She thought back to what she was before, and what she was before, before that. She could almost swear she could see the old, hatred filled gem in her outline, and then the happy and stupid version of herself, but then it changed back to her normal look as Garnet also stepped onto the shore, rippling the water. She looked at her reflection, looking at all the changes there were since everything started. It was relaxing to go back through all the memories, even though most of them were bad, and they made her tear up a bit before blinking them back. She remembers that she changes, and that she was in the future, not the past. But, she looks at her sleeve covered hands, and for a small moment, she could see them back to being magenta gloved, standing ontop of a cracked injector, while the city burned down to the grounds with a extremely injured Steven on the injector in front of her, and she blinked again, and everything was back to normal. She couldn't move on.
She stares above, to see a warm ball of light called the sun, halfway down the ocean while the water was also tinted a warm orange-red. The clouds were a fluffy pink as the sky was warming up, and all the beautiful warm colors that swirled together seemed to fade off along with the glowing ball of light.
Her rainbow shining crystal seemed to glimmer comfortingly as it seemed to float, giving her another boost of wonderful, and colorful energy. It filled her with the light of love, and it seemed to protect her, but not for long as the darkness crept in. The light was slowly fading as the sun fell, and it seemed to trickle away the life force the crystal had the further it went down.
Everything seemed to fade, but just when the stellar beauty seemed to appear, Garnet popped the question, as the last remaining light disappeared from the crystal as it stopped floating, except it swirling into rainbow colors. Garnet looked at her, while Spinel turned to face her as well, her mood and patience dropping for some odd reason.
"Was there something... odd that was happening to you when you arrived with the diamonds?"
She said calmly, seeming to anger Spinel's consciousness more, but she decided to brush it off, as Garnet was a loving friend, as well as Ruby and Sapphire. She looked at Garnet directly into her eyes, and to see that she has moved on from this madness, leaving her the dust, left her to pick up all the shattered peices. She looks away and frowns. A light on her eye seems to dull for a second, before turning back to the expectant and all knowing future teller.
"I.. I don't know. It happens a couple times a day, and it feels me with bad emotion, suddenly wanting to hurt, either someone else, or..."
She stopped talking. Garnet knew what she meant, and smiled. She placed a hand on her shoulder, and whispered calmly as the stellar beauty of stars started to flow into view.
"Well, someday, you'll move on. It's just a matter of time and patience. Sometimes Ruby and Sapphire got into fights, and sometimes they wouldn't speak for days, weeks, and even months. But in the end, they forgot about the past, and made up. You are hurting internally, and you just can't let go. That's why you are having these negative outbursts. You can do it, and I believe in you."
Garnet said calmly before looking at the starlight. Spinel looked at it as well, and the joy filled her slowly and happily, and the crystal glimmered and seemed to float again. The stars were shooting across the sky, and Garnet and Spinel looked at each other happily. It was like a small moment of bonding, and Spinel enjoyed it. She wouldn't have been able to experience this if she didn't let her emotions get the better of her and destroy the entire earth, crumbling it to pieces.
"So, I need some advice..."
"Sure."
"How do you know if things... are going in the right direction? Is this right?"
Spinel asked nervously. Garnet chuckled, as she knew what she meant. The starlight seemed to reassure Spinel, but not fully enough. She wasn't going to accept things so easily after all of... thag.
"Well, I have future vision, to see millions of possibilities. But for you... just like the young Ruby.. just follow your heart, and it will take you somewhere."
Garnet said, hopefully. Spinel smiled sadly, and seemed to remember when she first arrived on Homeworld. How many friends she made, how many mistakes, and how many times she felt joy, excitement, and love. She looked at Garnet once more, and she finally felt just that little bit better. She also looked at the glimmering crystal that steven gave her, and she wondered about all the possibilities it could have been holding right this moment. What was that mysterious voice she has always been hearing? Why did White Diamond act so weird all of a sudden? Well, she has more time to think about all of those things later. Right now, it's time to make things right with her friend.
"Hey, Garnet?"
"What?""Thank you."
