A/N: Sometimes you take responsibility for other people's actions. You care about them in a way where you tell them to; Not put things out on themselves. Enjoy!

Fire

Between 1950 and 1953, there were about 52 "historically significant wildland fires" Only four of these fires occurred before the seventies' era which some people found it quite inconsolable.

Carol and her benevolent angel were just so asleep. One of those deliberative nights where they've found themselves having a midnight tickle. It may sound frivolous and much of a witty but the two were always fond of each other to do things to each others body without knowing. It's been quite awhile they've actually slept together. And not as in sex, but as in sleeping peacefully like angels who've aloft and spawn thoroughly throughout the night. Therese always loved the scent of Carol's fragrance, especially the extract that spreads around the room.

She'd usually bury her face into the crook of the blondes neck, but she leaning on top of her as Carol held her by the back bits of silk that was pressing onto Carol's flesh from the cloth of Therese's pullover.

Her fingers become entwined in the woollen blanket, gripping it as if it were more substantial than a square of multicoloured yarn, as if it could keep me from tumbling into the abyss.

As soon as Therese has woken up, the bright arid lights from above hitting her eyelids as she attempted to wake up from her sleep, she suddenly rised her head, and sniffed then occasionally exhaled: nose a bit clogged up. She noticed a burning scent,

That black heat of fire she constantly thought about.

It worried the girl.

She looked up fleetly from Carol's face and tensed up quickly, as her cheeks heated up, gasping for air as she got up before leaving the bed within from Carol.

"Oh god... This is really bad!"

"Therese, what? What happens to be the problem?"

"The pie! I was making a pie, and.. and I forgot all about it! It's in the damn oven!"

"Hey, hey! Therese, slow down, there is no need to panic - " Carol reassured her as she conciliated her; she cooed.

"No no! I should be panicking, Carol! I must've caused a fire! Oh God, I overslept!"

Carol looked at her, lips parted as she felt downhearted for her partner. "Just breathe."

Therese quickly rushed herself out of bed, crouching slightly as she made her way through the seating bench before making her way into the kitchen, completely avoiding Carol's advice. The brunette panicked, holding onto the doorknob as she took one last glare at Carol before leaving the bedroom as she lets out a deep breath.

Once Therese opened the door she noticed how smoky it was from outside towards the kitchen, she headed down and panned her hand out as she waved it away for the smoke to leave from her face, opening as much windows as she can.

3:45 p.m.

"Oh no..." Therese muttered under her breath, glancing firstly into the oven as she analyzed a sacred horrid bad fire that has cooked up on their stove.

Carol immediately took her robe and draped it around her shoulders, along from her perfume she has knocked over from the desk ; right after running hurriedly as possible toward the kitchen.

Carol gasped, her eyes squinting as she took a quick gaze at Therese, looking into the fire as with a radiance that turned into a hint of solemnity.
