I sit and draw my name in the gravel. I don't know why I like it up here so much. It's kind of boring. I sigh and flip my hair to the side. I have a weird sense in my hands again. "Stop holding her hand!" I say out loud. I figure I can't think anything without him hearing. I'm gonna end up like a crazy person talking to myself. I look out and see the museum a couple blocks down. Can't wait to go there for a field trip tomorrow where Peter and MJ will be all lovey dicey to show the whole school they aren't fighting anymore. I sigh and throw a pebble off into the distance. No wonder Peter just swings around for fun. I decide to hop my way home and grab some food. I stop in Delmars place to grab something. "Hey Delmar," I say. He smiles.
"Steal La! How are you?" Delmar asks as Murph jumps on the counter. I pet him and nod.
"I'm alright. How about a number five," I say.
"Extra cheese?" He asks. I nod.
"Please," I say.
"Five dollars." I hand him the money and leave the change in the tip jar. "How's school?"
"Boring, stupid," I say.
"Stay in school, or you'll end up like me."
"This seems pretty good to me," I say petting Murph some more. He shakes his head and hands me my sandwich. "Thanks Delmar. Tell your wife I say hello," I say walking out. I hear him say will do as I rush out. I walk down the street eating my sandwich. I see Peter walking towards to sandwich shop on the other side of the street. MJ is with him otherwise I'd probably say hi. She must really hate me to not let me be around Peter anymore. I just assume that's the verdict from their fight yesterday.
I unlock my door and throw my sandwich stuff away. Still no Dad. Hope he's okay. I'd hate to tell him off like that and then him go missing. I decide the only good thing to do now is watch some tv and then head to bed. I'm still pretty tired from being out all night and sleeping on a couch. As I'm about to settle in I hear a knock at the door. I sigh and open it to see Happy. "Oh joy," I say sarcastically.
"I'm here for the suit then I'm leaving," he says bluntly.
"What?" I ask.
"You really aren't very bright," he says. I huff as he pushes passed me.
"You can't have the suit," I protest.
"It's our suit it belongs to the Avengers."
"No it's mine. It's a special gift from Spider-Man," I snap back to him.
"Yeah well you said you don't want to be a hero."
"I don't, but the suit makes my ass look great," I say sarcastically again.
"Not a reason to keep it," he replies dryly.
"I don't need a reason. It's mine," I say. He keeps looking around cause he doesn't know where the case is. "You'll never find it anyway," I say like a smartass.
"Look Spider-Man needs the suit back. You can't be his sidekick anymore."
"I never wanted to be his sidekick." We stare at each other for a minute and he keeps looking. I sigh and roll my eyes. "Look my dad will be home any minute and I know you forged the note. I'll bring the suit to Avengers tower later this week," I say crossing my arms. He huffs.
"You better keep your word," he says. "Unless you use it. Then you can have it."
"Whatever, get out," I say trying to push him out. He just ends up running into me. "Ouch!" I say as he knocked me into the couch.
"Big baby," he says as he grabs the door handle. I can feel the metal in my hand as if I was holding it. My eyes widen and I watch him walk out.
"I ran into him, and I felt what his hand felt," I say to myself. I feel something soft all the sudden. I look outside and see Happy petting a dog. I just can't run into anyone anymore. That must be the thing, but when I ran into Peter that first day I didn't feel what he felt. Actually every time I run into Peter I don't feel what he feels. I furrow my brows in confusion.
