Casarina's POV

I was sitting on Madison's desk with her phone in my hand, while she sat in her chair staring me down to watch every word that I said, making sure that I stuck to our agreement. After one ring the phone picked up.

"What's up Cassie," Xavier greeted me.

"Nothing much, just called to see how you were doing," I replied.

I didn't even have to look at Madison to see how worked up she was getting because I was caring for his well-being. To avoid eye contact I was staring at the curtain behind Madison that she never opens.

"I'm fine, so Cassie I was thinking about the other night..."

I could feel Madison's eyes burning on my forehead. I bit my lip, closed my eyes and tightened my fist in hope that he wasn't going to say what I think he may say.

"And..."

"I'm really sorry, I stepped over some boundaries with you and your girlfriend."

Madison's eyes lightened up, but her expression stayed stern.

"I know and it was partly my fault,"

I had a choice, I could either try to tell Xavier to run away in a really fast spoken statement or let him die. But I'm not going to let my only friend of 12 years die.

"Yeah, kind of," he chuckled.

I chuckled back, only for Madison to snatch the phone from me and hang it up.

"Why did you do that?," I asked innocently.

She narrowed her eyes and stared at me for a few moments.

"Your conversation was getting too inappropriate for me. Let's go."

She got out of her seat, grabbed my hand and walked me out of her office. Both of us walked to the living room area to meet only Brayden there.

Not even greeting Brayden, she grabbed my waist and forced our eye contact. It always takes all of my strength to look into her eyes when they are dark without cowering down. But sometimes I fail, and this time, I failed.

"Look at me!," she demanded harshly.

She even let one hand go of my waist and used that hand to make my eyes face her by grabbing my chin.

"Behave yourself. Do not let me come back and you are gone. Do you understand me?"

All of her power that she was using on me made it difficult for me to even speak. So she repeated herself

"Do. You. Understand. Me."

"Yes," I was able mutter out.

"Good. Brayden is in charge."

She let go of me and started walking to the door.

"Wait, where are you going?"

She paused at the door and thought for a second and grinned.

"To kill Xavier."

And she left before I could even say a word.

I looked over at Brayden, who looked back my way.

Madison's POV

I ran to my pack house and walked up the three flights to my office.

"Why are you in my office?," I ask as I stood by the door

A busy Nathan looks up at me and replies, "Just looking for the file on the Night Shed Pack."

"It is in the top draw to the right. Why do you need it," I ask with a puzzled face.

"Apparently a member from that pack came last night causing a ruckus."

"Why the fuck am I just hearing about this now," I growl.

"I am just hearing about this now as well. No one reported it until now because it was assumed to be a random attack."

"It does not matter if it was a random attack or not, I still need to know everything that goes on in my pack. How do you even know it was Night Shed?"

"They left a mark on the trees, the same mark that their very first Alpha had tattooed on his back. I tried telling you as soon as I found out, but your mind was blocked."

"It makes no sense for them to attack us. How would they even know that we are working with Cameron."

"Exactly. Unless Cameron is playing us."

"Damn. He wouldn't-," I took a deep breath.

Nathan gave me a glare and the thought ran through my mind.

"Out of curiosity, did it have to do with Casarina at all?"

He raised an eyebrow.

"Just between me and you yes, I scared her into thinking that I would kill that Xavier guy."

"Why don't you. Just one quick slice," he smirked.

"I have more pressing matters. I do not care that much, he is just another human."

He shook his shoulders.

"We are going to have to visit Cameron's pack," I explained.

"Should I put together some soldiers?"

"No. It will just be me and you."

With that we left the building, turned into our wolves and ran off into the forest.
