     Dinner Plans

You awoke in the middle of the night, both hot and cold, in a sweat. You immediately began feeling uneasy alone in the dark, so you stood up with your dove still and tip toed out of your room towards Medic's. You slowly opened his door and peeked in. He saw and waved to you with that big doofy grin of his he always gave you. "Come in Frau, I'm up." You hesitantly shuffled your way into his room and stood awkwardly at the end of his bed. He pat his bed in response, motioning for you to sit with him. So you did, you sat criss cross on his bed and stared up at him through the darkness. "Vhat brings jou here, taube?" He asked. While you couldn't see his face very well, his voice told you enough to know he was concerned. "I w-woke up still sick, and uh.. I came over because I started getting a little paranoid alone." You sheepishly admitted. He nodded a little and gestured to the space beside him. "If jou need, jou could stay in here viz me for zhe night?" You quietly moved your butt up to the space and layed beside him. There was no way in hell you'd pass up this opportunity. He smiled in the dark and pulled the covers over you both. He watched you curl up with your dove and whispered a Gute Nacht before laying back himself to sleep.

You awoke to an empty, messy bed and soft humming. You looked around with a yawn and noticed medic, sitting in his chair humming softly to himself while reading. He hasn't noticed you awake yet so you took the moment to enjoy yourself. Listening to his humming with content, watching his concentrated expression as he reads. All his focus in another world. It was heaven, to be honest. You wished you could wake up to this every morning. You were so lost daydreaming while nearly drooling over him you didn't notice him close the book and stare back with that raised eyebrow of his. "Guten Morgen Y/N. Looks like someone's enjoying the view." He teased with a wink. You knew he was just trying to push your buttons but couldn't help but die a little inside while your face heated up like an inferno. He expected a bit of a flustered reaction, but was a bit shocked by how fast the colour in your face went from one to eleven. Sure, he was poking fun, but internally was hoping it was true. Your reaction gave the doctor a little confidence in his plan for later at least.

With the Medics preparing his plan, he was busy most of the day and kept you trapped with the engineer, knowing he'd be least likely to drive you insane. He isn't exactly wrong; the Texan makes great company. You got to catch up with him after days of quarantine and isolation. You considered engineer your second closest friend on the base, so could trust him to know the truth. He admitted he had a feeling, being close to you and seeing your miserable state before. Engie was kind enough to gift you with a little night light. According to him, he'd built it to the Medic's request for you. That man was just too good to you, you swear. If only he knew how much he brightened up your dark world (pun intended).

You and the engineer spent the day away in his workshop, since medic didn't want you out. You were curious as all hell, but the cowboy kept his word to medic and made you stay put. You weren't allowed out until dinner time, of course. Little did you know, this dinner would be a little extra special.

AN: yeah yeah it's short and took a while. I've been having a bit of trouble with motivation and all. And it's short because of how long it took to getting it out, I just wanted to give you something. I'm not sure if the next chapter will be any sooner but it'll be better and longer. This story is also starting to come to a close since I don't wanna drag it out, and it isn't helping me in the way I had hoped it would. I kinda lost a spark for this particular story because of it.
