Trauma

Sam was crying for the first time in her life. Well, the first time anyone has seen her cry, anyway.

"Here, Sam. Just tell me what happened," said Carly to her friend.

"Nothing, nothing at all," Sam said.

"C'mon Sam, I know something is wrong. If it's about deli meats, I can go fetch you a ham."

"It's not about that, but I do want a ham right now."

"Not until you tell me what happened. Is this about Freddie?"

"No..."

"It is, isn't it?"

"Maybe..."

"What happened?"

"You were talking to Spencer and his girlfriend, and telling them that their relationship would never work out because they're too different."

"Oh, Sam, you know I wasn't talking about you and Freddie."

"I know. Anyway, we went in the elevator to go back upstairs, and I stalled it so me and Freddie could talk. He thought you were right too."

"So, did you break up?"

"Yeah."

"Oh, I'm sorry. You know I didn't mean it for you and Freddie. It was just that Spencer and his girlfriend were driving me crazy. And now that she's at school, I don't want to have a repeat of the incident with my teacher."

"It's okay. It was mutual."

"Why don't you get back together with him if you miss him so much?"

"I don't miss him. I'm just crying because of trauma."

"Sure. Keep on believing that, Sam. Now let me sleep. It's 3 in the morning."

"Okay, good night."

"Good night."
