When I woke up, my vision was still blurry, I was in a room painted a-sort of-turquoise colour, a roman style table was placed in one corner and a bookshelf in another, opposite the bed that I was lying on was a double glass door that opened onto a balcony which looked out to the sea.

“Oh, finally you woke up. I was worried the Gods took it too hard on you,” my vision cleared, I saw a girl with golden-blonde hair and sky blue eyes, “Here, I’ll get you some water,” I slowly sat up, the pain was still there, but it didn’t hurt that much anymore, “Here,” she offered me a glass of water,

“W-where am I? And do I know you?”

“You’re is the Aquarius section of the nation, and this is your room, hope you like it ‘cause you’ll be staying here for the rest of your life-pretty much-but feel free to renovate it and decorate it however you want. By the way, my name is Emma.” She smiled at me, a warm and encouraging smile, “Okay, I’ll leave you now, if you need anything just call,” she smiled at me one more time and left. I got out of my bed, I looked at the time, it was 3:24pm. I should go and meet Sammy. I went to the wardrobe, all that was in there was dresses of different shades of blue to green-it would’ve made sense, Aquarius’s element is water-all of them were low, very low V necks. I picked one that was a turquoise shade and had the shallowest V neck-which wasn’t that shallow-and put on a pair of black leggings which went up to just below my knees. Slipped on scandals and headed out the door.

When I arrived, Sammy was already there waiting for me, when I saw him, I ran into his arms, he still smelt the same, he smelled like the soap and freshly mowed grass for some reason. I buried my head into his neck, I breathe in deeply, he was here, actually here. When we finally broke away, I looked up at him-he was still always at least 10cm taller than me, after all these years, I’m still shorter than him-he wore a grin on his face, an annoying and sarcastic smile which I grew to love.

“Let’s go,” he grabbed my wrist,

“Where are we going?”

“Somewhere,” he smiled and together we ran towards the Gemini section.

By the time we reached the Gemini section the sun was starting to set, we arrived at a familiar cave, memories came rushing back to me. Sammy and I used to spend time here all the time after school, we would stash books, papers and pencils in the groove in one of the rock faces. Sammy turned one a soft lantern light, the spare batteries was still taped to the wall.

“Remember?” he smiled, I leaned down onto his shoulder,

“Yeah, I remember,” I turned and put my hand behind his neck and pressed my lips to his, at first he was rigid, then relaxed and kiss me back, “I love you,”

“I love you too,” he cupped his hands around my face and kissed me again, this time it was desperate, as if he wanted to do this for a while. He pushed me to the floor, and fit our bodies together, I could feel his body radiating heat in the cold breeze as if the sun ran in his veins. He kissed down my neck then my collar bone, when he finally broke away, he smiled, and kissed me again, softer, like all that desperation was gone now. I heard thundering, shaking the cavern, then another one louder.

“Sammy? What’s going on?” I asked my voice trembled, he pulled me close to him,

“I don’t-” he doubled, over clearly in pain, I screamed out his name. Then suddenly I felt like someone had punched me in my stomach, over and over again. The Gods didn’t like what we did just then, it was all my fault. I screamed-aware that Sammy was lying there, scaringly still-I struggled to my feet, more pain came, I fell to my knees. A voice boomed from the sky,

Theresa Palmia, you made a big mistake,” then everything went black.
