Dinner was epic. We got served first class food that maybe only the kings and queens would get a chance to have. By the time I got to the cave, Sammy was already waiting, he grinned at me as I walked in,

“Look who’s late this time,” he said as I walked over and hit him hard.

“Shut up,” I muttered, he leaned over and kissed me lightly, still rubbing his sore arm.

“So, how did it go?”

“Yeah, okay I guess. Apparently we get to see them every month, so that’s pretty good, you?”

“Okay, my parents just asked how I was doing and if the other people there were treating me nicely. You know, that kind of stuff,”

“Oh,”

“Come on, today is the best sunset day of the year. If it isn’t, then blame Ethan,” I laughed, we walked over to the opening of the cave and watched the sun set over the horizon. As the sun touched the water, it sent ripples of red and orange, to pink and purple across the sea. “So it turns out, Ethan was right. This is probably the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen, not that I’ve seen many. And probably the only beautiful sunset I’ll ever see.”

I knew what he meant, I’m guessing that he was thinking back to last night’s conversation with Venus, I touched his face lightly. “Hey, I’m not going to let anything happen to you, okay.” He looked at me deep in the eyes, I saw love, happiness, anger, determination and fear, each shade of blue represented something, and  he whispered,

“Okay.” I leaned in and kissed him, his lips tasted like tacos, which is probably what he had for dinner. I heard him say my name against my lips, I hooked my fingers around his belt loops on his jeans and pulled him close, our bodies fitted together like we’ve done this before, (in case you’re wondering, we haven’t). The kiss grew deeper and I opened my mouth slightly to say something but that got quickly cut off as Sammy kissed me back harder. Soon and somehow I was on top of him, I let my hand wonder to his back and reached up under his shirt, he was warm, I could feel the his muscles moving slightly as we kissed. He reached down and pulled his shirt over his head, I laid my hand on his bare chest while he reached down to the hem of my top, I tensed up, he must’ve felt it, because he let go, and I pulled away.

I looked at him and whispered, “It’s okay,” he pulled it over my head, I realised that I was wearing a boring white bra, but he stared at it like it was a newly discovered specimen. I grabbed his face and kissed him again, the sea breeze came and sent shivers down my spine. I pulled away, “Are you cold?”

“Yeah, you?” I nodded and we both put our tops back on and just sat there looking out to the sea. I leaned my head against his shoulder and let sleep grab hold of me.
