I Went For the Head

It takes them a few hours to make repairs to The Benatar. Freya all but choked on air at hearing the name of Quill's ship while Steve looked at her in total confusion. She just waved him off and continued to help Rocket repair the fuel cells.

They finally board the ship and leave the Earth's atmosphere. Freya sits on Steve's right behind her mom while Natasha sits in the back with Rhodey and Thor. Bruce and Nebula decided to take the seats at the front.

"Okay. Who here hasn't been to space?"

Freya and Carol make eye contact before looking around the ship. Steve and Natasha raise their hands with a confused expression while Rhodey stares at the raccoon with an annoyed look. He shakes his head before finally raising his hand.

"Why?"

Freya and her mom look at each other again and share a chuckle. Carol continues to ready the ship for jump while Freya looks at Steve.

"Just remember to not hold your breath."

He tilts his head to the side, "You've done this before?"

"Plenty of times when I was a kid. When I went on missions with the Kree," she chuckles. "Don't close your eyes." She winks before looking forward and preparing for the jump.

"You better not throw up on my ship," Rocket warns them.

"Approaching jump in three, two, one." Nebula activates jump on the ship and they blast off.

Freya grins at the familiar sight of tearing through space at warp speed. The colors fly past the windshield before they come to a sudden halt at the far end of space. She looks around at everyone as she unbuckles herself.

"Everyone good?"

Rhodey groans from the back seat while Natasha gives her a dirty look. Steve just looks up at her and blinks before grinning widely. She chuckles and shakes her head as she helps her mom get ready for recon.

Soon after, Carol departs from the ship to scout out the planet below them. Freya plops into one of the seats while Steve sits in the one next to her. They're both quiet as they look out the wind shield and wait for word from her mom.

Movement out of the corner of her eye makes her turn. Freya watches as Steve pulls out his compass and opens it. He looks at her picture inside before smiling and putting it away. Glancing over at her, he catches her watching him and sends her a cheeky smile. She smiles and shakes her head before looking forward again and becoming serious. Natasha walks up to her and kneels down, noticing the pained look on her best friend's face.

"This is gonna work, Frey."

"I know it will." Freya sighs and turns to Natasha, "'Cause I don't know what I'm gonna do if it doesn't."

Natasha grips Freya's shoulder while Steve reaches out to grab her hand. Moments later, Carol flies back up to the ship.

"No satellites. No ships. No armies. No ground defenses of any kind. It's just him."

"And that's enough," Nebula nods.

They decide that Carol will go in first to subdue him with Rhodey after and Bruce close behind in the Hulk Buster suit. After that, Thor will get the gauntlet away from him by any means necessary. Everyone else will trail behind since they can't keep up with the other four.

Steve, Freya, Natasha, Nebula and Rocket watch as the other four converge on the hut that Thanos is in. As they walk up to the front door, they hear crashes and screaming from Thanos himself. When they finally get inside, they watch as Rhodey holds Thanos' right arm while Carol has him in a headlock. Thor had cut off his gauntlet arm while Bruce had held it back. Rocket scampers forward and rolls the gauntlet over. Only to reveal empty sockets and no stones.
