The Battle of Wakanda: Part 1

The resounding war cry from the entire Wakandan army lights a new fire inside Freya that she's never felt before. The sound of weapons unsheathing rings out and she propels herself forward, flying ahead of the entire mass of defending troops. She knows that Steve and T'Challa won't be far behind her. As soon as T'Challa gives the order to open the barrier, she takes the initiative and dives in head first at the furthest edge of the river into the mass of the alien hell hounds.

Letting her powers flow freely and unhindered for the first time in her life, she lands with such immense force that she throws back any enemy bodies near her. Instantly killing them on impact as a giant shock wave is released. Her aura expands outward, incinerating any of the hounds nearby. The screeches and sounds of dying enemy soldiers music to her ears.

Instantly springing into action after she lands, she begins to use her powers to rip apart any hound that she can get her grasp on. Her aura begins to work alongside her, proving that it does have a mind of its own. It reaches its wisps and tendrils out to any near enemies, killing them on contact as Freya seamlessly transitions back and forth from hand to hand to her powers. It doesn't seem like it initially could, but her aura only continues to grow in brightness. Almost consuming her figure as she swiftly dispatches enemy troops.

She soon hears two thuds behind her and reaches her mind out as she continues to fight. Finding Steve and T'Challa close on her flank as they work alongside her. The clash of metal on teeth and weapons firing closely follows as the rest of the army finally closes ranks, joining their lead attackers. Screams of pain, grunts and the snarls of the beasts that they fight fill the air as both sides begin to tear each other apart. An explosion goes off behind her, but she doesn't even bother to turn. Immediately recognizing it to be T'Challa's suit releasing its stored kinetic energy.

There's a short break in fighting as Freya eliminates any near enemies as the rest of the Wakandan army surrounds her, coming to her aid. She turns to check on the rest of her team. Her eyes land on Natasha first, seeing her work alongside Okoye as they easily taking out any hostile force in their path. Sam and Rhodey fly overhead, their guns shredding the alien hounds as her eyes land on Bucky next. He's easily mowing down the alien hounds with his rifle, completely safe for the moment.

Her eyes finally find Steve as she watches him throw punches at a hound that he has pinned down. Using the edges of his newly acquired dual shields as weapons. Finally dispatching his target, he looks up to check on his wife, their eyes instantly locking. His go wide, seeing how he can hardly make out her body as her aura completely engulfs it. Finding the sight to be completely entrancing and beautiful. T'Challa's voice over comms pulls their attention away from each other.

"How much longer, Shuri?!"

"I've barely begun, brother!"

"You might want to pick up the pace."

He finishes the short conversation with a yell as he takes out another hound. Freya reaches her mind out to Wanda, worried about the younger woman and Vision.

"Everything okay up there?"

"Yeah, we're clear up here right now. How are you guys? It looks like something out of a nightmare down there."

"You have no idea. Stay safe. Call me if there are any signs of trouble."

"You, too. And I will."

She moves closer to Steve as a fresh wave of hounds descends on them. Bruce lands near by with a heavy thud as he swings one of the arms of his suit, killing multiple enemies on impact. Freya and Steve begin to fight side by side as the mass of enemies around them gets thicker. Panic is starting to rise in her chest. She's beginning to worry that they won't be able to hold them off.
