Donovan approached her and she froze up for a second. 'Sara, didn't think I'd see you here!' Donovan chuckled. 'Oh– Donovan.' She paused. 'You– you came.' she stuttered out with no control over her anxious mind and tremors it caused. 'Earth to Sara? Hello? Sara you there?' Alice said, interrupting her thoughts. 'You do know he's here to apologize. Right?' Alice asked, confused. 'Oh...' Sara said, hesitantly. Sara looked over at Donovan. 'Are you really sorry, though?' she questions. 'Yeah.' he hesitated. 'I'm sorry for being a jerk.' Alice elbowed him. 'Ow?' he says. 'Okay, fine.' he paused. 'I'm sorry for being so mean to you back when. I didn't mean it, i was just jealous.' he explained. 'Well,' Sara paused. 'Truce?' She said, putting out her hand for Donovan to shake. 'Truce.' He said, shaking her hand. 'This'll be a good camping trip!' Donovan and Alice said in sync. 'Jinx!' Alice said, nudging Donovan. 'you owe me a soda at the campfire tonight!' Alice giggled, running over to Donovan's cooler. 'Darn, only energy drinks?' She snapped. 'That is really all i drink.' Donovan said laughing. Alice tackled Donovan jokingly and then Sara joined in, and started tickling Donovan. 'Stop!' He giggled, practically 'till his sides split. Sara then backed off and started laughing. Then Donovan ran over and started tickling her. 'Ha stop!' Sara said, laughing heavily. Then they all fell back and started laughing. 'That was fun.' Sara chuckled. 'Wonder how many people thought we were nuts.' Donovan said pinching Sara on her arm. 'Ouch.' She said. 'That's payback.' he laughed, earning a flick in the back of the neck from Alice. 'We'd best get over to the tent to unpack.' Alice said, pointing toward the tent. 'Yeah, okay, I'm coming.' She said. Her and Donovan headed up the hill and they picked up their bags, which they had dropped before their little stunt. They went and unpacked. 'Hey, Don?' Sara asked politely. 'Yeah?' he responded. 'What is there to even be jealous of?' She asked trying to understand why he bullied her. 'You are pretty, kind, and everything I'm not...' He said, wiping the sweat off his face with a towel that he brought. 'I don't see anything pretty in myself.' She sighs and looks at Donovan. 'You are way more good looking than i am.' she says and then walked out of the tent, more of the group had arrived and were unpacking and propping their tents. 'Hey, Alice?' She said, Alice turned around. 'Yes?' she asked. 'Donovan is acting- Off.' Sara said, trying not to let him hear. 'I agree.' Alice paused 'He is.' Just then, Donovan left the tent. 'Hey, what's going on? I heard my name.' He said, walking over to Alice and Sara. Just then, they heard noises in the tent. 'Is anyone still in the tent?' Alice asked. 'No.' Sara replied. 'Odd. I'll check it out.' Donovan spoke, and started heading towards the tent. He went inside, and then about five seconds later they heard a man scream. 'What the hell?' Sara screamed, running over to the tent, being stopped by Alice. 'I am not letting you go in there! Your dad died on a camping trip. I am not letting that happen to you!' Alice said, sitting Sara in a chair. 'Stay here.' she said. 'Fine. But, if you die, I'm coming in there!' Sara said. Alice entered the tent, and then she saw Donovan laying, unconscious or worse— dead. On the ground. Just then, she saw a spirit. 'Shit!' she screamed, running out of the tent. 'Sara, we need to leave.' She said. 'Where's Donovan?!' She asked. 'He's dead–' Sara looked back in shock. 'It can't be... He isn't—' Alice interrupted. 'Let's get out if here. Now.' she said, sternly. 'Okay! Okay!' she grabbed Sara's hand and ran to the van. They climbed in and then urged her mom to drive. 'Mom go!' she paused. 'Someone just got killed.' Alice's mom opened her mouth to speak but just closed it. 'Mom. Drive.' she nodded and started to back out. They started driving up the narrow path, then Sara saw someone she thought she would never see again— her father. But, he was a spirit. Not real not real. She told herself, then she blacked out.
