Chapter 11(Belle's POV)

       The next day at school, everyone was buzzing about who might become team captains. I heard the talk all the way to my locker when I went to grab my ancient civilization books.

       I felt a tap on my shoulder behind me and jumped then heard chuckling. When I turned, I saw the laughing face of Zach.

       "Hey" I said, swatting his shoulder with a laugh "What was that for?"

       He put his hands up in surrender, "In my defense, I didn't know I'd scare you"

       I laughed once more, "Come on, lets get to class."

       We walked into class and took our seats, Zach's right behind mine. "Welcome class" our teacher, Mrs. Jenson said. "I hope you all did your homework from Tuesday."

       Some of the class grumbled a bit but I pulled out my homework we had on the basics of Mesopotamia. Mrs. Jenson came around and collected it before giving todays assignment.

       "So after our notes on Mesopotamia, I would like you all to take a very small practice quiz." As she said that, the entire class groaned. "But..." she continued "you can work with one other person"

       I turned around, "So what'd ya say, work together?"

       I received a nod from Zach and turned my desk around.

       "Last one." I said as I held the paper in front of me "and I will slap you if you get this wrong"

       He chuckled and said "I cant make any promises to get it right but shoot."

      "What are two rivers that Mesopotamia lies between?" I read aloud and saw Zach think about it for a moment

      "Uhhh is it Tigris and..", he trailed off

      I waved my hand in a circular motion encouraging him to continue. "Umm... ya I got nothing" he shrugged.

      I sighed "Euphrates; Tigris and Euphrates river." Then, true to my word, I slapped him playfully on his shoulder.

      Zach rubbed his shoulder slightly but laughed

       After school I met up with Zach so we could go to his dorm so I could help him study. We walked to the Brookside Magmum dorm together and headed to the second floor where Zach and Wes's room was.

      Their room was a nice, cool grey. In the boys' dorm, there where only two to a room rather than four. There room was set up like mine but with single beds rather than bunk beds.

      Zach dropped off his stuff and sat on the couch as I walked to one of the desks and grabbed the chair, bringing it over to the other desk then turned and saw Zach.

      "What do you think you're doing?" I ask him "You are supposed to be over at this desk so I can help you with math, not chill out."

      He groned  and sat up "Do we have to start now"

       I chuckled slightly then said, "Yes, we have a team practice in about two hours and I have other homework, and I'm sure you do too. Not to mention I have to go back to my dorm to change."

      Zach silently stood up and walked over to his backpack, pulling out his homework and coming to the desk to get started.

      I had left the Brookside Magmum dorm about an hour and a half later as I had just done the rest of my homework that was due tomorrow at Zach's.

      When I entered my dorm, I saw everyone else finishing up homework or watching tv.

      About 30 minutes later all of us were dressed and headed to the barn for our team practice.
