After school the next day Hope and I walked out of the school together and waited for Jayed and Shay so we could walk to our dorm together.

We all decided to do all of our homework now as we would be gone all weekend. After I was finished I pulled out my clothes for the show, including my blue show jacket and Danger's show pad as I had left it in the dorm to keep it clean. The rest of my clothes included, tan breeches, a white polo, a blue polo, my cross country vest, and grey breeches. My boots were in the tack room so I'll grab those later.

Once we had all finished, we walked to the barn and Cloe joined us soon after. We all got our tack out and began to clean it. I had two saddles, a jumping/cross country one and a dressage one. I cleaned those first then set to Danger's bridal. Hope only had one all around saddle so she helped me out by cleaning the martingale.

After everyone was finished with tack we moved onto boots then bathing the horses. We all helped out each other doing Jazz, Aztec, Elips, then  Melody. By that time it was fairly late so I told them to go get their bags ready and I could wash Danger myself.

I tied up my stallion then set to work. After I had finished rinsing him off, Zach walked by but stopped when he saw me. "Hey" he said with a smile

I looked up and smiled back "Hey, what's up?"

Zach shrugged, "Nothing much, I just wanted do a last minute check on things."

"Did you already clean Bambi and your tack?"

"Yep, I did that right after school to avoid the rush"

"Smart." I reply as I begin with the soap

"Did you want some help giving Danger a bath?" Zach asked as he walked closer

"If you really want to that'd be great, thank you."

After about a half hour, we were almost done. we had started with his thick mane and tail and his feathers as those would take the longest. It was finally time to rinse the soap off of the rest of Danger's body. I had turned away for a moment and felt something cold hit my back.

I quickly turned around to see a laughing Zach, holding the hose on his side.

"What was that for?" I asked in fake hurt

He didn't respond but kept laughing. I turned to the side and grabbed the hose on the other side, quickly spraying him back.

Zach stopped laughing for a moment, clearly not expecting that. "Not so funny now is it" I smirked with laughter of my own.

"Oh you're in for it now" He said and sprayed me again.

I jumped back a bit, laughing but before I could retaliate, Danger shook out his coat, getting Zach soapy and wet.

That made me laugh more and I said "Good boy Danger. Thank for the help."

Zach chuckled a bit and said, "Ok, ok. I think maybe we should finish rinsing and drying your horse."

I nodded, still laughing and ran my hand down Danger's neck before finishing his bath.

After we'd finished, I put a thin fly sheet on Danger just to keep him as clean a possible as well as braiding his mane, tail, and feathers. Zach and I then met our friends at dinner before going back to the barn to pack our stuff.

Everyone who was going to the show was there, ready to pack their stuff. There were a three 10 horse trailers, two four horse trailers and three, small, repurposed trailers to just hold tack. There were about 35 plus kids going. The team captains waited to make sure everyone else got their tack in the correct trailer efficiently.

After I had but my tack in the trailer, I looked over at the 2'6" team trailer and saw Hope standing outside the door to the trailer holding clipboard, most likely with the names of the kids going to the show as Hope liked to make checklists for things.

Once all the students going to the show had packed up their tack, we all went back to our dorms to get some sleep for the first show of the season.
