Tsukihiko's pov:

I gather my things to head home. I wasn't particularly busy but I had a lot of things done today. I went back to my apartment and fell asleep.

In my dreams...

There was this woman and me. I know it was me. But he looked different. A lot different. We were having a good time in a carnival. And we looked so in love with each other. But the thing that baffles me is that she had a blurred face. But I know she's smiling and laughing.

But before the dream ended she was left alone. Where did I go? And how come did she look so clueless?

When I woke up I prepared for work again. This time I headed for a hospital for children with cancer. It was sad that these kids have so little time left.

But they looked happy. I brought out the book I wrote and was published just last week. I was invited to tell them bed time stories.

There was someone already there. Another storyteller. I was told she was a volunteer for these kids.

"Hey" "Hi" she immediately smiled at me.
"You must be Mr. Mori. I've heard about you."

"Yes I am."

"You know... I was one of these kids before. I used to have cancer and was given only 3 years to live. But you see I am a fighter. Ever since I was 18, I made sure I'll make it pass 21. I'm 24 now." She smiled at me.

"Why're you telling me these things?" I asked.
"I'm sorry. I just want to share my life story. And I want to give these little kids a little hope and cheer them up. If not I want to at least give them courage to face death." She said and started telling the story she brought with her. The kids were athered around her.

"Once upon a time in the time of king and queens... There was a young prince born to a king and queen. This young prince became the source of joy for the king and queen so much so that his birth was a cause for a celebration, because finally there was a crown prince." She said pausing a bit when a bald little girl asked her a question.

"What is a crown prince?" She asked which brought another smile on the woman's lips.
"A crown prince is a first born prince that will soon be a king when his father the king, dies." She answered.

"And then... Everyone was happy until an old fool came to destroy their happiness. This old fool declared that the prince will bring destruction and sadness to the whole kingdom. The old fool was sent out and never to return to the land. The king did his best to shield his boy. The king had many children. But only a princess survived to rule." She paused again.

"The prince was cursed then?" A little boy asked.
"Yes little one. The prince was adopted to a new family. But the curse is said to be broken if and only if a girl would come and love the prince so much that she's ready to sacrifice herself." She continued.

"What's sacrifice?" Another asked.
"Sacrifice is to give up something of yours for another person's sake." She replied.

"And then... The girl came. But when they fell in love... Their love wasn't able to survive. The girl along the way got cursed too. They were willing to sacrifice each other's life for the other.  But the prince was determined to give up his for the girl he loved to live. The prince died but his curse was lifted before he died. The supposed to be princess was left alone." She ended the story.

"Did the story just end that way?" I asked. She lifted her head to face me.
"I suppose... The ghost of the prince and princess lingered to find each other. Even though a millenia will pass they will still look for each other." She answered.

When it was my turn I made sure it was more child friendly than her story.

I cannot take my mind off her story. It seems like I know how the story will proceed but I don't know why.

"What's your name?" I asked her.
"My name is Princess. Princess Hinami." She said.

"Princess? That sounds hilarious. I've never heard of anyone named like that."
"Hey... Only a few called me Princess. You can call me Hinami instead." She said.

That day I made a friend.

She told me her story. Since she was born she was a sickly child. But even though she was sickly she was said to heal as quickly as the sickness came. She claimed that someone was always there protecting her until she was diagnosed of having cancer. But the cancer didn't last long.

She defeated cancer when she was 23 when she was diagnosed at 18.

"You're so lucky Hinami. I never met my father. He left us for another woman and my mother, killed herself when I was 15. I had to watch when she used that gun to end it all."

"That's sad. Well... If you'd ever need a friend I'll always be here... Muzan." She said and smiled. Wait... Muzan is a nickname only my mother used to call me.

"How'd you know my nickname?" I asked her.
"It's been 2 millenia Muzan." She gave me a hug which shocked me.

And then it quickly came to me. Hinami, our past, my birth right and her story. It all came to me so fast. She came to find me. She came to give our love another shot.

That Dawn was the best Dawn of my life.

END...
