In Tenivassia, the Rendii are not as much of a common race. They are about one hundred to two hundred in numbers, and all live in the same village in the countryside. The Rendii are perhaps the most rich in culture and history of all the races, and are also very friendly to newcomers. You will learn about their history and culture in the history and customs book.

The Rendii are very competitive when it comes to finding mates, and fight for the right to choose a female. The males are the more brightly colored of the creatures, and these bright colors are used to attract females. The males fight for mates by knocking their horns together and locking, wrestling with their horns and seeing who will back down first. They also jump at each other with their large talon extended, and many Rendii have lost their lives to being gored by these talons during mating ruts.

Although males fight for females, the females do sometimes fight too. Any Rendii can fight for a Mate, and they can choose anyone as a mate. This is customary and they don't really mind the gender of their mate, as long as there is a close connection.

Despite the way they fight over mating rights, the Rendii are a close knit people. They have been through many hardships together, and are a dying race in Tenivassia. They are a happy group and love to dance and sing, and are very talented musicians. They are the farmers and manual workers of Tenivassia, but they also have a huge passion for dance and music, just like the Aviankind. But their jobs usually consist of lumberjacks, miners, farmers and blacksmiths, and are always enlisted for help when heavy lifting is needed. They are built for strength and dexterity, and because they are so able, the Rendii were exploited by earlier human colonizers which made their race almost die out.

The Rendii are strict carnivores, and hunt their food. They prefer to eat small things rather than large meals, and snack throughout the day; preferring to eat when they want to rather than schedule meal times. They go to other homes and not necessarily their own for food, as each Rendii considers another family.

The Rendii resemble strange creatures that act similar to cats. They tend to purr when happy, hiss when they are scared or angry, and can rumble and growl when content. They have sharp clawed handpaws, and walk on the toes of their feetpaws. Their feetpaws have one large toe with a curled claw, which they use as defense or as a weapon when they attack or are attacked. Their horns can be any shape, and often the older the Rendii, the more likely it is that their horns are snapped or cracked.

Rendii are a very close knit group, and consider everyone family. If left alone in solitary confinement, Rendii can die from heartbreak and loneliness. They are known as pack people, and always live in groups.

The Rendii, like the Aviankind, lay eggs. They nurse their eggs for one month before it hatches, and they consider themselves very lucky if they are expecting. The Rendii have a shorter gestation period of 5 months of the egg in the womb, before it is laid and hatched. Rendii find it extremely difficult to fall pregnant, and most families only have one or two children, if any. Many of the Rendii are born infertile due to inbreeding in their history.

The Rendii have the most mutations of the races. Due to their heavy inbreeding, they can be born without horns, with no or half a tail, and some are born albino or melanistic. Sometimes they have speech problems or have the equivalent to human Down syndrome. This is a problem, because bright colors attract mates; and tails and horns are used for breeding fights. These Rendii that are mutated aren't outcasted, and are looked after closely by their parents and are always loved. But they tend to die at a young age, because they never find mates and are very lonely.

The Rendii inbreeding happened due to slavery. The Rendii were the easiest race to steal and take from their homes, and so they became slaves for humans and orcs. The Rendii are no longer slaves as Tenivassia is no longer colonized, but they are a smaller population due to it. There is still undercover and illegal slave trade in Tenivassia and outside of it, and Rendii kits are stolen very often. Parents keep very close eyes on them when they play, and every Rendii protects every child.

Rendii don't wear clothes, and are covered in fur instead. They dislike clothing, as it restricts their bodies; but most of them do have a degree of embarrassment with nude bodies and wear trousers or shorts. They get their clothes made for their tails, especially since they are very sensitive. They need special fabric so it doesn't itch. The Aviankind make all their clothes.

The Rendii don't live in the capital city, and they don't really like going anywhere by carriage. They are rather scared of advancement and are quite rooted in the old ways of the land, and prefer to do everything by hand and by foot. They don't go around by carriage or by wheels of any kind.

Rendii build their own homes, and they are very proud of them.
