it was the 1950s, world war two ended a few years back and the cold war was starting. but that didn't really matter to the teens in levittown pennsylvania. but the american life was starting to regain its balance once again...
now jack avery was a little different than your average teen boy at the time. sure he had his friends from school, and had proper manners, he took care of the home when his dad was at work and had good grades but he had a secret that no one knew...a secret that could end his life. his dad was a business man and his mom was a stay at home mother, she helped to raise his baby sister while his dad was at work. they did live in the suburbs, 35 minutes away from PA where he went to school and around an hour in a half from new york city.
now zachary herron was a little different. he lived in the same little suburban town as jack but he didn't even know of jacks existence. zach was homeschooled once the war had started so he could take care of his family while his dad was gone. but he was moving to the highschool jacks goes to this year which was weird for him. now zach was a little edgier than the other teenage boy's, at this time he would be considered a 'greaser' with his style and attitude...but he had a secret, now that secret could never get out...especially being in the 1950s.
