-november-

jack was working at the diner so he could get some money for something he had in mind for zach. he had been working for a few days now and zach would pick him up afterwards.

"your shift is almost over" jonah spoke as he wiped down the counters and jack cleaned off some tables "yeah i know. i'm waiting on zach" he replied

they continued cleaning up the diner before it was time to close. jonah grabbed his jacket as did jack as they stood in front of the bar.

"i can give you a ride jack, you know it's no trouble" jonah suggested and jack shook his head "i'm sure he's on his way. he never forgets" jack gave a small smile and the brunette nodded. "well i'm not leaving till he gets here"

they sat down waiting on zach. around 5 minutes later he pulled in and ran straight inside the place.

"i'm sorry" he sighed as he opened the door and jack frowned at the sight. "it's okay...nothings wrong. come on let's go. bye jonah..." the curly headed boy gave him a 'brotherly hug' considering jonah was there before they walked back out and got in the car.

the smell of cigarettes filled the boys nose as he scrunched up his nose. "were you smoking" jack asked and zach looked down before glancing back towards the road. "i don't do it a lot" he sighed

"what do you mean, a lot? is this normal?" he asked clearly upset and zach nodded "only when i get overwhelmed and frustrated. i don't do it otherwise...please don't hate me jack" zach was on the verge of tears. his biggest fear was to have jack hate him, and he was afraid that was happening.

"i could never hate you...i'm not mad either i'm just surprised, that's all. but what's going on? why are you frustrated?" he asked and they pulled into jacks driveway. "it's nothing." the brunette shrugged it off as they got out of the car.

"don't lie to me zach, it has to be something" he walked over to the boy and looked him in the eyes. "i don't really wanna talk about it. i'll tell you some other time" zach shrugged it off as they walked into his bedroom.

"what do you want to do?" jack asked as they sat around the bedroom "well i have homework and so do you so let's do that first..okay?" he suggested and jack nodded. they pulled out their books and started working.

"hey jack, your dad and i are taking sissy out for a while. we will be back later tonight, okay?" jacks mom walked into the bedroom "okay. love you momma" he hugged her bye leaving the two boys alone.

they continued doing their homework before jack groaned "i don't know how to do this!" zach looked at him with soft eyes as he leaned forward looking at his work. "look you just got to graph it by putting the y-intercept and slope..." he went on and jack was actually learning from him which was surprising in a way considering he was always the book smart one.

they finally finished all their work about an hour later. they were both decently hungry so they walked down stairs and decided to cook something up. jack ended up making them toast and had some fruit on the side, just a small meal to pass the time.

they ate it up before going to watch some television. nothing was on since it was a school night so instead they decided on playing a board game.

"i'm so bored" jack groaned and the other laughed "you get bored to easily" he stood up walking to the kitchen with his glass "yeah well it's easy to do when there isn't anything to occupy me" jack sassed "we can go upstairs and i can read to you" zach suggested and the boy smiled and so they walked up stairs and zach grabbed a book off of the bookshelf.

they laid on the bed, zach sitting up while the curly boy nuzzled into him. "the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe...i hope you don't mind what i chose" the boy sighed and jack gave a small smile "i actually really like this one"

the brunette started reading while jack admired him. he loved the sound of zachs smooth voice, it soothes him in a way.

it got pretty late and jacks family came back home. they went to get ready for bed while the two boys stayed in jacks room. "heres some pants" jack muttered handing the boy a pair while he changed as well. he glanced towards the bed where zach was changing and a dust of rose covered his cheeks as he saw the boys bare chest...he turned back around waiting for zach to tell him he could look.

they laid in bed, both on the verge of sleep. jack wrapped his arms around zachs middle as he laid his head on his chest. "goodnight" zach muttered kissing the top of the boys head as they both dozed off. "goodnight" jack muttered and it went silent.
