jack walked outside carrying his things and saying hi to fellow classmates. he waited for zach as his bestfriends walked up to him.

"if you need us come by the diner okay?" jonah spoke as he hugged the boy bye.

"okay, jo! have fun at work..." he nodded before hugging the others.

christina and tatum where going with them since there was enough room in the car now. jonah would be dropping christina and corbyn off and bringing tatum and daniel with him to work.

"oh there you are" zach sighed in content as he walked beside the boy to his car.

"so where we going" jack asked as he closed the door and zach pulled out

"my house? unless you have somewhere else in mind" he glanced at the curly haired boy

"that's fine." jack gave him a small smile before focusing on the scenery he was all to familiar with.

the 30 minute drive was finally over when they made it to zachs home. they got out and walked into the home where zachs mom was in the kitchen with his baby sister sitting at the table.

"hey sissy" zach grinned as she ran and jumped into his arms.

"hi zachy" she grinned and Ms. Herron wiped her hands on the apron and walked over to them.

"momma this is jack, jack this is my mom" zach motioned between the two.

"hi Ms. Herron nice to meet you, i'm jack, jack avery" he gave her a warm smile and she returned the gesture

"nice to meet you jack. would you like a drink?" she asked and jack kindly declined the offer.

"we will be upstairs if you need me ma." zach spoke before he and jack walked upstairs and to zachs bedroom.

they sat on his bed before turning on the radio he had sat on a nightstand. jack hummed along to the tune which was slow and pretty in his mind.

zach admired jacks features as his lips were slightly parted as he hummed to the sound. his head slightly moved alone to the beat as well.

"would you want to dance..." zach asked shyly and jack looked at him confused and zach blushed out of embarrassment "nevermind" zach muttered and jack frowned at the sight before standing up placing his hand on zachs and he stood up.

the door was shut luckily.

zach placed his hand on jacks waist and the other was locked with one of jacks, jack placed his hand on zachs shoulder as they swayed back and forth to the music. they then moved around the room in sync before zach twirled the boy. a giggle slipped out of jacks soft lips making a smile spread across the others lips.

they continued dancing as another song played through the small radio. zach twirled jack once more before letting go of his hand as the boy stopped as his feet stuck to the floor. jack placed his hands on his knees as he bent over catching his breath as he smiled with his eyes at the older boy.

he then stood back up and danced around the room spinning and laughing as he done stupid little dances making zach feel some type of way.

"alright that's enough dancer boy" zach chuckled as he placed his hands on jacks shoulders forcing him to stop.

they sat around keeping up small talk before it was time for dinner. they walked downstairs and sat down at the dinner table where zachs father came and sat down with his black coffee sat in front of him and his daughter sat a seat over.

"hey sir this is jack, jack avery" zach motioned towards the curly headed boy

"what's on your head" mr. herron said rudely

"oh uh uhm well that's my hair sir" jack was shy and embarrassed

"it looks like a girls hair...are you gay?" he asked with a nasty look on his face and jack was offended and felt bad

"no sir...i was born with curly hair...my baby sister has the same hair as does my momma. it's in my genes." jack spoke sticking up for himself leaving mr. herron silent.

"alright everyone have a seat and i'll hand you your plates" Ms. Herron spoke breaking the silence as zach sat down next to jack with his dad at the head of the table and his mom and sister across from him.

they ate while talking a bit before zach helped clean up and he said bye to his mom and dad as he and jack left.

they sat in the car before pulling out and driving down the road.

"i'm sorry about my dad...he has no sense in respect" zach sighed apologizing

"don't apologize it's his fault not yours..." jack sighed "i had fun dancing" jack perked up as he stared at zach

"me too...it was nice to have fun again" zach glanced at the freckled boy

"i agree...are you driving me home?" jack asked and zach nodded

"yeah, i have to get back to help my dad with something, tomorrow we can go to your house though if you would like" he turned onto jacks road

"okay, i'd like that" he nodded and they pulled into his driveway.

zach opened jacks door and walked him to the doorstep where he said bye and jack walked into the home and zach left.

as he closed the door he leaned against it and sighed in content. he had more fun than expected with the brunette...maybe he did like him. as a friend of course.

"hey baby" his mom grinned as she walked over to him with a warm hug.

"hi, i just got back from zacharys, he's my new friend actually. i also ate dinner over there." jack told her about zachs family and she liked that he made a new friend.

later on that night jack took a shower and laid down in bed. he couldn't stop thinking about the rosy cheeked boy, or the dancing they did. he enjoyed more than he should've but he couldn't help the fact...he liked it, or the fact zachs dad hurt his feelings so much...what if zach thought the same? it didn't matter anyways he wasn't gay.
