Without thinking, Arden asked Yuri about Yuri's relationship with Felix. Something flashed under Yuri's expression, but like a balloon slipping from his hand, it disappeared before Arden could reach for it.Yuri frowned, disappointment clear on his features. "None of your business."
That was how Arden and Yuri's 'ice cream makes everything better' ended. Both of them regretted everything they exchanged. Their mind was clouded by anxiousness and the feeling of running away.
Yuri hadn't left his apartment in three days, which meant he hadn't seen Arden, not because he was a little embarrassed to do so, but because he was very embarrassed to do so.
But that didn't mean he didn't feel the necessity to meet someone new. Someone who'd gladly spend time with Yuri, regardless of how things turn out.
For Yuri, the idea of meeting someone new was to be able to get a real feeling of who they were over weeks or even months without forming a strong opinion about them. He let himself observe them and develop their polaroid in front of him.
When Yuri saw Arden for the first time, Arden's face was of utmost confidence or at least that's how Arden tend to portray. Someone with really observant eyes. It was like, whatever game this man plays- he never routines to loss. And Yuri never noticed anyone like that other than Felix, except Arden, wouldn't make you feel lost.
Sometimes the picture might turn out wrong and blurred, but he still liked to try, perhaps they might become lifelong friends, a lovable rogue or a person too damaged to give in an emotionally warm embrace.
Yuri was afraid of lots of things but meeting new people wasn't one of them. He liked to meet people and get to know them but only to a marked limit.
So, all Yuri could conclude was that he was glad to meet Arden.
Standing on the balcony, Yuri pulled his hair back to tie it up and saw Arden walking out of the building with a bag slung over his shoulder. Yuri went back inside his apartment.
Arden looked up at Yuri's balcony, and let out a loud sneeze making a few people turn to him. He shook his head and made his way out, regretting late-night ice-creams.
