Why We Lose

After so much time and effort,
Why do we still lose?
After months of relentless working
Why is that the person we choose?
Maybe its because we didn't practice enough
Why is that the person we choose?
Maybe its because we didn't practice enough
That our sweat and blood wasn't as much as our opponent's
But who can really work that much
When it's not even certain we'll win
Or perhaps it was the audience
Waiting for the chance to judge and criticise
But who can really ignore them
When it's society's ties that we're bound by?
It could also be our familiar friend failure
Itching to spoil the present
And we can't do it right now
Because we weren't able to back then
But I wonder to believe
That maybe it's a web of lies
And what if it's just our own doubts
That are in our way to try?
And now I'm pretty sure
The lies were never true
The only people who really win
Do the things others aren't willing to do.
