Prompt: comfy sweaters | Pairing: ForthBeam
Beam smiled looking down at the little girl laying beside him. She'd fallen asleep about fifteen minutes ago while they were watching Frozen. He'd have to thank Kit for letting him know about this movie. It worked like a charm getting her to settle down after crafts and a surprise dessert. He gently combed his fingers through her hair. Sadly, he wondered how long it must have taken for it grow back after the treatments.
A soft knock on the open hospital door made him look up. P'Fang stood in the doorway with a tired smile. "Hey, I just found out that her dad is being held up at work till late tonight." She said in low tone as she stepped into the room. "Why don't you head home before the taxi's stop running?"
"But what about you?" Beam replied loving the idea of going home but he would stay. It was dangerous for women to be out at night by themselves especially in this weather. He could see that it was still flurrying like a storm outside through the window of the hospital room.
"Don't worry about me. My boyfriend who works here will take me home after his shift. So why don't I take care of this one and let you go on home before it gets too dark." P'Fang nodded.
"Okay, you win." Beam smiled back at her. He carefully untangled himself from the little girl. As he stood up, Beam sent a text to Forth letting him know that he was on his way back. Forth sent a thumbs up followed by a picture of him working on the tom saap he was making them for dinner. His stomach growled at the thought.
"Good, now that we agree scram." P'Fang chuckled with him as she tucked the little girl in.
"I'll see you on Tuesday." Beam said to her as he grabbed his jacket.
"See you." She waved goodbye.
The smell of the soup wafted into the hallway making his mouth water as he stopped in front of Forth's dorm room. He fished out his key card swiping it to unlock the door. Inside, it smelled even more delicious. Forth's rap music was playing from his blue tooth speaker in the living room area. Beam hung his coat up beside of Forth's leather jacket as he toed out of his shoes.
He stepped more into the room to find Forth standing in front of the stove sprinkling some diced mint into the pot. He looked down right cozy. His hair finger ruffled wearing one of his rare over sized sweaters with a pair of sweats. The sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Today was Forth's day off and it had been a downer to have to leave him this morning but spending time with kids in the children's hospital while their parents worked was worth it.
"Welcome home, babe." Forth chuckled in greeting leaning his head back in request for a kiss. Beam happily agreed wrapping his his arms around his boyfriend. Forth ended the kiss feeling cold hands sneaking underneath the hem of his comfy sweater to rest on his warm stomach.
"Glad to be home. This smells delicious." Beam replied leaning his chin on Forth's shoulder.
"Want a taste?" Forth asked as he stirred the pot. Beam nodded happily accepting the spoonful he was offered over his boyfriend's dinner. Forth's tom saap for him was like Ming's honey chicken for Kit. Beam hummed pleased with the taste.
"God that's good." Beam praised his boyfriend's cooking.
"Thank you." Forth smiled, "Now go wash up and we can have dinner."
