Prompt: Fireplace | Pairing: Ming X Kit

Kit shivered in his sleep feeling air push down his back. He blindly reached behind himself realizing that he was alone. Slowly, Kit opened his eyes only to find that the room was still mostly dark. Ming had left the automatic blinds down to keep the daylight at bay. The soft light of the clock on his side of the bed told him that it was after eleven in the morning. He huffed sitting up to rub the sleep from his face.

"That brat." Kit complained with no heat behind his words. He knew that Ming had let him sleep in because he need the rest. Besides it was the weekend and he'd been going full steam ahead for exams this past week. Kit untangled himself from their sheets getting out of bed. He went into the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash his face before venturing out.

Ming wasn't hard to find. The television was on in the living room playing that kid's movie, Home Alone; which must have become background sound because he wasn't even paying attention to it. The fireplace below was on making the room warm and inviting. If Kit moved to sit on the couch he'd have a better angle of watching his boyfriend work. He loved watching Ming work on his projects. Currently, Ming had his back to him sitting on the floor towards the fire place. The younger man clad in the black cotton sweats he'd gone to bed in.  On the low table in front of he had spread out all of his paints and was currently working on something that Kit couldn't see.

Well, he was going to fix that. He quietly went to the kitchenette making Ming a cup of coffee while making himself some tea. While the water was boiling he grabbed the festive polar bear and kitten shaped mugs off the shelf that Ming's grandmother sent them putting their respective drinks inside. He carefully brought the drinks into the living room setting Ming's down near him.

"Oh, hey, you're up?" Ming greeted giving him a beaming smile, "thank you, Kitkat."

"You're welcome and I just woke up." Kit replied sitting down on the couch he used his leg to nudge Ming's thigh "thanks for letting me sleep in."

"You needed the rest."

"Well I'm fully rested now."

"Good. So does that mean you're hungry? Do you want me to order us some lunch?" Ming asked setting the powder pink dining table fit for a doll down along with his paint brush. He reached for his coffee taking a drink. "Ah, so good."

"No, I'll do that. You keep working." Kit chuckled stretching out on the couch.

"Can we have that French onion soup again?" Ming asked as he picked up his paint brush.

"Sure." Kit smiled fondly pulling out his phone. A few minutes later he had the order in and nestled happily watching his boyfriend work. He was right about his earlier thought. This angle is perfect to watch. His eyes trailing over Ming's lithe skillful hands with their splotches of paint as they work. Then his eyes went back up the younger man's  bare chest seeing some more splotches but also the  marks from last night.

"You want to help?" Ming asked without looking up.

"Nope, I think I'll just watch." Kit answered with a grin.
