Calla had been asked by the Dark Lord to keep an eye on Harry Potter. It was a bit strange, when he had initially ordered her to do it, but after several days Calla began to realize why he had asked it of her. It was the same reason that Dumbledore had asked her to do the same thing, except in the name of the order, almost a month later.
Because Calla was the youngest member on both sides of the war, and out of everyone she would be able to blend in around harry Potter better than anyone else. In fact, when Calla had donned some designer shorts, it was the hottest summer in decades and Narcissa had decided Calla would be dressed appropriately, and a little black tank top, she blended right in. Of course there were some pros and cons to this, first and foremost Harry's brutish cousin Dudley seemed to be have taken an interest in her.
Harry had of course been displeased to see her hanging around, but he hadn't actually approached her about it until summer was very nearly over. Calla had taken over one of the swings when she had first appeared on the playground at the beginning of the summer. Of course she would move if one of the younger children ever asked her to, she had even been known to push some of the younger children if they were looking particularly lonely, but she hadn't moved much from that spot. From sunrise to sun down, from the time Harry got to the playground in the morning to the time he left the playground at night, aside form a few days that she had been missing she hadn't moved. It was a small wonder, with as much skin as she was showing, that she hadn't gotten a dangerously bad sunburn. Because as Harry, and unfortunately Harry's vile cousin Dudley, had noticed when she had first appeared, she had taken to wearing the least among of clothes that she could because it was a record high in London and she absolutely loathe the idea of covering her body in clothes to keep off the sun, only to boil in the hot weather.
"What are you ding here, Professor Snape?" Harry took the seat beside Calla, something his cousin had tried to do once, only to be sent away with a foul look on his face. Calla had not been gentle on him that day. Harry took a particularly long moment to eye Calla's dark mark, she couldn't very well hide it in the weather, so it was on full display. She had been able to hide it with some flowery muggle looking tattoos that she had drawn onto herself in marker. Narcissa had gone pale the first tome Calla had come home and her arms had been covered in sharpie flowers.
Calla glanced over at Harry with her light green eyes, and gave him a tired smile. There were dark circles under the witch's, eyes, one that she hadn't even had when she had been a seventh year, and she had been taking care of all the other professor's grading. Clearly there was something in her life that was particularly stressful at the moment, and with the mark on her arm Harry could only imagine what she was going through. However she hadn't made any move to hurt him yet, and Hermione had always told him that the Slytherin woman was a kind girl, no matter what house she came from.
"The headmaster sent me to keep an eye on you, Harry," Calla admitted, suing her feet to push herself on the swing a little. "He thinks you're going to do something to get yourself into trouble this summer."
Harry's eyes moved down to the mar one her arm once more, and Calla only then seemed to realize what it was he would be seeing if he looked. She grimaced and seemed to try to hide her arm behind her back.
"Oh that," She laughed uncomfortable, shifting in her seat. "The apple doesn't seem to fall too far from the tree in that remark. But I wouldn't ever do anything to hurt you Harry. You can count on that."
The two of them sat in silence for a long moment, and right before Harry went to get up he heard the laughter of one of his least favorite people. Harry and Calla both grimaced as they realized Dudley was coming up behind them. Of course harry hated his cousin in general, he was a foul muggle boy who seemed to enjoy picking on Harry whenever he could. But Calla disliked Dudley for an entirely different reason. One of the first days that Calla had been watching Harry, Dudley had strutted over to her like he was the king of the playground and had rudely informed her that he thought she was pretty, and that he would pick her up from her house at eight for a night on the town. Calla had used some not so polite words to tell him she wasn't at all interested, and from that day on Dudley seemed to have made it his personal mission to get into Calla's pants. Never mind she was probably a year or two older than the boy. He was not going to leave her alone.,
