"Hello Madame Prince," The stern librarian pressed her thin lips together at the familiar slow drawl of Calla Snape. Calla Snape was a particularly brilliant young witch, she had entered Hogwarts three years before was customary for a witch, and besides that she was the top of her class. However, there had always been an unspoken animosity between the mistress of the library and Potion Master's daughter. Calla has spent a majority of her childhood summers in the library, and more often than not she would be accompanied by the animagus form of the Deputy Headmistress to ensure that Madame Prince didn't make Calla's pursuit of knowledge too difficult.
Madame Prince looked like Calla's presence had put the particularly unpleasant flavor of lemons in her mouth, but held her tongue all the same.
"Can I get something for you Miss. Snape?" Calla's thin lips twist up in a sweet smile that didn't reach her eyes, and she easily slides a familiar pass over to the older witch. A pass signed by the girl's father, allowing her access to the Restricted Section. Calla had the particularly annoying habit of pursuing all information, a habit her father shared in his youth, and it seemed to be one of the few things that Calla and her father agreed upon.
"Three of your most comprehensive books on animagus', please," Calla's smile twisted a little, so that it was more mocking than sweet. However few saw this unnerving side of the girl so Madame prince doubted that anyone would take her word for it if she were so inclined to tell. Calla had spent most of her life at Hogwrts, and as such, most of the professors, aside from her own father apparently, were quite taken with the girl. They had all seen the cold way Severus treated her, and stepped in to be her supplemental parents. All except Madame Prince. There had always been something strange about the girl, even when she had just been a toddler locked in her father's chambers for most of the year. Madame Prince imagined that her upbringing had something to do with the generally cold demeanor of the girl, but it didn't excuse the discomfort she had always caused.
A discomfort that had only come from one sort of students. And perhaps Minerva was willing to overlook who the girl's father was, what her house was, but Madame Prince had made that mistake before and she wasn't willing to do it again. Even eleven years after the fall of the Dark Lord, there would always be evil in the world and Madame Prince was convinced that Calla would soon fall in with that crowed.
"Of course," Madame Prince glowered, reaching under her desk to snag the keys to the Restricted Section. It was her responsibility, after all, to ensure that a student didn't take books they weren't allowed. She would closely monitor this student in particular. And she would continue to monitor the young witch until she strode out of the library five minutes later, three heavy tombs on the mechanics of becoming an animagus clutched tightly in her thin arms.

Calla wasn't sure why she had never been asked to move into the Slytherin common room. She had been given the password to the common room of course, she had the passwords for most all of the common rooms because the heads of house, Minerva in particular, were fond of her and trusted her enough to investigate reports of mischief if they were busy with something. When Calla had first been formally enrolled in Hogwarts, however, she had never been given a bed in the dungeons. Her things had never been moved, and she had remained staying in her father's private chambers. She had expected, of course, that her father would take the chance to get her out of his space and out of his hair. But he hadn't shown any inclinations to do so. He hadn't been any warmer towards her than he generally was, but he didn't seem to be in any hurry to see her go. It was one of the only redeemable qualities that Severus Snape had. He took care of his duties, whether it be repaying his debt to Dumbledore by teaching Potions at Hogwarts, or keeping his daughter clothed and fed because it was his mistake that lead to her conception.
