"How much longer do I have to stay in here?" Aimee groaned, she had been in the hospital for more than forty-eight hours.
Lydia rolled her eyes, "Melissa said you almost died from dehydration."
Aimee sat up, "But I'm better now," Lydia raised an eyebrow and Aimee flopped back down on the hospital bed, "I hate this."
Lydia crossed her arms, "Yeah well I hate seeing you like this," Lydia shifted as she watched her best friend, "I wish you would have said something."
Lydia was just thankful that Aimee was looking more like herself after she had a constant pump of fluids going into her body. She was sleeping, eating a bit more, and even had taken a shower. Aimee brought her lip between her teeth, "Tell me about this new boy you're seeing."
Lydia uncrossed her arms not wanting to tell her best friend what she had gotten herself into, "Nothing to it, he was in my head," Lydia leaned in towards her friend, "Because I'm crazy."
Aimee smiled and shoved Lydia back slightly, "Yeah right. If your crazy, I'm not even on the board," Aimee sat back up, "Cut the shit Lydia, what happened?"
"Peter Hale," Aimee paused at the name. She had remembered when Stiles told her about him all those days ago. He was the Alpha who was attempting to kill Lydia, "He's who I've been seeing," Lydia leaned back in the chair.
Aimee creased her eyebrows, "How? Isn't he dead?"
"That's what I've been trying to figure out," Lydia mumbled. She looked down at her phone, "There's a secret rave going on," Lydia frowned.
"Cool," Aimee sighed leaning back, "I'm missing everything while in here. I can't even go on a run."
Lydia leaned forward and smacked the girls arm, "Quit making me feel guilty that you're in here," Quickly leaning back in her chair, "Tell me about that boy. What was his name?"
Aimee rolled her eyes, "You know his name," Aimee swallowed, "He stayed here a while with me."
Lydia narrowed her eyes at her friend, something was different about her. Something more confident, and Lydia couldn't put her finger on why.
"Why was he at you're house?" Lydia asked still eyes watching Aimee's every move.
Aimee shifted uncomfortable under the gaze of her friend, "He wanted to check on me."
"Why?"
"Jesus Lydia, can't someone just want to-,"
The door squeaked open, "Hey am I interrupting?"
"No, come in," Aimee smiled at Nurse McCall, "Vitals?"
She smiled at her, "Actually release," She started to unhook Aimee from the machines, "Okay, I need you to sign these." Aimee quickly scribbled her name on all of the release forms. Aimee noticed the way Melissa looked at her the past two days, a look filled of sympathy.
"Alright, ready to go," She smiled at the girl who jumped out of bed. She had her hair in a loose bun, and was in some loose clothing.
"Are you sure she's ready?" Lydia asked, standing up grabbing their bags.
Melissa nodded and smiled at the two girls, "Drive safe."
Aimee followed Lydia out of the hospital, "Just because the hospital released you, doesn't mean you're Lydia approved." Aimee smiled and rolled her eyes. Lydia was always protective over Aimee, and Aimee was always protective over Lydia. The two worked like that, Hayley being more of a parent to Aimee, Aimee clung to Lydia as if she were her sister. Lydia, being an only child, accepted and clung back.
Once both women were in Lydia's car, Aimee turned to Lydia, "Can we go to the rave?"
"No," Lydia snapped as Aimee picked up her phone. She was added to a group chat by Allison where Stiles was texting about Jackson.
Aimee texted back:
Wait what?Stiles:
Oh hi aimee!Aimee:
Stiles whats going on?Allison:
Just go home, get some rest :)Aimee:
Do you guys need helpAllison:
NoStiles:
Maybe but you just got out, just head home, fill you in tomorrow!Aimee sighed and threw her phone into her lap, "I hate them."
Lydia laughed, as she pulled out of the hospital parking lot, "What did they do no?"
"Just not letting me know what's happening," Aimee paused and looked at Lydia, "They are at the rave, aren't they?"
Lydia drove Aimee to her house, "It doesn't matter where they are. You are staying home with me."
Aimee walked into her house, it looking nothing like it had before, "Allison and I cleaned up while you were in the hospital. We moved the boxes to Hayley's room," Aimee looked shocked, "Allison brought over new sheets and pillows for her room. We figured you'd want her sheets packed up."
Aimee's started to cry and looked to Lydia, "Thank you," Lydia pulled in for a hug, and when she did Aimee saw a package on the kitchen counter.
Aimee pulled away, "What's that?" Lydia shrugged as Aimee walked over and opened the box. It was a urn, and Aimee's heart dropped.
She pulled it out, it was mostly colored red. A small image of Hayley in a frame on the front. Hayley Kilton 1987-2015 engraved on the urn. Aimee turned to Lydia, before picking up the urn and placing it in the living room on a shelf.
"There's a piece of paper in here," Lydia mumbled as she walked into the living room with the paper.
Aimee took it from her and opened it,
Aimee,
I figured it was the least I could do for your family. I'm sorry for your loss, Hayley was a good woman.
Best regards,
Chris ArgentAimee put the small letter next to her sisters urn, "What did it say?"
Aimee turned towards Lydia, "Allison's dad paid for Hayley's urn," Lydia smiled thinking it was a good thing. Aimee's face; however, grew hardened.
"Aimes?" Lydia asked as she sat on the couch.
Aimee sat down next to Lydia, shaking, "I think I know who killed my sister."
