I followed Erik wordlessly, while he politely replied to the staffs' greetings on his way I didn't even knew what to feel. All I could do was glare at the back of his head until he held the door of what looked like his cabin to me. I walked in and he followed me after closing the door.
"Sit" He said motioning to the plush black chair in front of his table.
"Do you attend all your patients in leather jacket?" God I'm so stupid, why did I even ask that. He opened his macbook and probably started it since the apple logo on the back was glowing.
"What's wrong in that?" He asked, not looking up from the screen.
I shrugged out of my jacket. "I'm sure no parent would like their kid to get counselled by someone so-" I fell short of adjectives, or maybe I didn't even have any to describe him. "Don't mind me, it's just I'm used to seeing my doctors in white coats and for-"
I stopped speaking when he unzipped his leather jacket and shrugged it off. His white shirt underneath fit him better than any fucking doctor I had seen before, I resisted the urge to keep staring. "Better?" He asked, a hint of tease in his tone.
I shrugged again, turning my head around and taking a glance at his cabin, white dominated the room with mostly black and grey furnitures. The chair I sat on was so comfy that I could've taken a nap there without any hesitation. Erik's glass desk in front of me was adorned with a few stack of papers, a pitcher of water and his Macbook, with which he was fiddling with at the moment. Was he nervous? Nah, imaging Erik nervous was something I don't think anyone could do. He looked intimidating most of the time.
"Can we start?" He asked, closing the laptop in front of him. I straightened up, somehow having his complete attention of me kicked away all my courage.
"Yeah" I said, resting back on the chair. I have visited counsellors before I knew that I had to stick along the lines of what happened and what is happening but those counsellors were strangers to me. It was not like I knew Erik very well, I never tried to and neither did he let me in, but I knew, I knew that he had the brief sketch about my past relationship and present state.
"Tell me about him Trinity"
"Won't you ask me about myself first?" I asked.
"We'd get to that, would you like to answer my question or would you rather tell me why you want to avoid it?" Erik asked, leaning against his chair.
"Well, he was human, had two eyes-" Erik's unmoving gaze made me stop my blabbering. "I'm sorry" I muttered, turning my gaze to the stack of papers on Erik's desk. My mind raced back to the day I first met him, his caramel eyes, soothing voice and that smile. My mind was racing back to him. "I really don't have anything in my mind that can describe him Erik, can you be a little more specific?"
He nodded his head. "What made you think he's the one for you?" He asked.
"At sixteen everyone appears to be the one" I laughed. "He was good looking, he showed that he cared for me, comforted me when things got tough- all that"
He chuckled before grabbing a note pad from beneath the stack of papers. "How long were you both together?" He asked.
"Two years and three months, I knew him for-"
"Two years" He corrected. "Why did he leave?"
My throat dried up. "Found someone else" I managed to croak out. He was quick to fill up the glass that rested by the pitcher of water and handing it over to me.
