My day had been going great until Divination.
Charms had been fun, the water charm we had been learning had been very easy.
Annabeth had introduced me to her friends, Luna, and Abbie, a daughter of Athena who was a part-time Hunter.
I introduced her to Kendra Sorenson.
But then, of course, we had Divination.
First, Trelawney predicted I would drown, which was funny for two reasons: one, I could breathe underwater, two, I was immortal and couldn't die.
She did the same thing for Annie, which was hilarious, but Annabeth looked insulted.
But, of course, Trelawney opened her mouth again, and murmured as if in a trance,
"A half-blood of the eldest *cough*,
Shall reach sixteen against all odds,
And see the world in endless sleep
The*sneeze*'s soul, *burp* blade shall reap
A single choice shall end his days
*sneeze* to preserve or raze."
I thought she was done, but then, of course, Trelawney had to say,
"You shall go west and face the *cough* who has turned
You shall find what was stolen, and see it safely returned,
You shall be betrayed by the one who calls you a friend,
And you shall fail to save what matters most in the end."
I was crying now, crying for Luke, for my mom, for that first simple prophecy that sent me through years of problems.
"You shall sail the iron ship with warriors of *cough*
You shall find what you seek and make it your own
But despair of your life *laugh* within stone
And fail without friends, to fly home alone."
"Five shall go west to the *achoo* in chains,
One shall be lost in the land without rain
The bane of *burp* shows the trail
*achoo* and *cough* combines prevail
The *sneeze* Curse one must withstand
And one shall perish by a parent's hand."
"You shall delve into the darkness of the endless maze
The *sneeze*, the traitor, and the lost one raise
You shall rise or fall by the *laugh*'s hand
The Child of *sneeze*'s final stand
Destroy with a *cough*'s final breath
And to lose a love worse than death."
Oh no. Now come the Tar....
"Go to Alaska
Find *cough* and free him
Come back by sundown on June 24th or die."
"To North, beyond the *cough*, lies the *sneeze*'s crown
Falling from ice, son of *laugh* shall drown."
"*cough*'s daughter walks alone
The Mark of *laugh* burns through Rome
Twins snuff out the angel's breath
Who holds the key to endless *hiccup*
*sneeze*'s bane stands gold and pale
Won with pain from a woven jail."
"Seven half-bloods to answer the call
To storm or fire the world must fall
An oath to keep with final breath
As foes bear arms to the Doors of *sneeze*."
Grabbing Annabeth's hand, I, 'Mione, Abbie, and Neville rushed out, tears streaming down our faces.
We ran to our dorms, uttering, "Zeus' Helm," and collapsed onto the couches.
The sixth years, who had a break, looked at us with worry.
"What's wrong?" Piper asked.
"Don't go to Divination," I gasped. "Trelawney predicted I was going to die by drowning, and then she..."
"She... what?" Ginny asked.
"She recited all the prophecies we've ever been in."
My sweet little Kyma came up to me and cuddled. I stroked her silvery fur, smiling softly.
Annabeth pet her owl, a small wince gracing her immortal face.
