Chapter 3 Bad Time for Company?

      Max struggles to get Marinette out of his computer game when the doorbell rings. He thinks this is a bad time for the company. He knows he did not invite anyone over because it is a school day. 

   "Max go answer the door. Otherwise, people will get suspicious," Marinette says within the game.

   "Ok, I suppose you are right. " Max says. He goes to see who is at the door.

   "Hi, Max!  I  just want to know, have you found Marinette yet?"  Chloe asks.

  "Well, about that you see the thing is..." Max begins to say.

   "Max you know Adrien worries about her," Chloe says.

   "Chloe do not worry.  I am sure Marinette is just fine." Max responds.

   "Max, is there something you are not telling me?"  Chloe asks. She thinks he is hiding something.

    "What makes you say this?  Haha," Max says as he gives her a nervous laugh.

    "Well, I happen to believe you are hiding something,"  Chloe says.

       "Hi, Chloe!  How are you?"  Marinette asks while still stuck inside the game.

      "What was that Max?  I thought I heard Marinette's voice."  Chole says.  

      "Chloe it must be your imagination. There is no way Marinette is here." Max replies.

     "Max, did you just accuse me of being a liar?"  Chloe whines. 

    "Honestly, I thought we were friends,"  Chole says angrily.

        

   Max's doorbell rings again.  

   Chole looks at him with annoyance in her voice says, "Do not just stand there!  Go answer it."

    Max opens it.  "Oh, hello, what do you want?" He says.

    "Rude much?  I  just thought maybe you heard something from Marinette by now." Alya says.

     "Well, you see I uh..."  Max begins to say.

    "Max, I know I heard Marinette's voice. I refuse to leave here until you explain where is she?"  Chloe says.

    "Ok, okay, I will tell you.  You might want to take a seat though."  Max says.

    "You have to promise not to scream or freak out though," Max tells her.

     "Max, I promise now just tell me," Chloe demands.

     "I promise to do the same,"  Alya says.

      "It is a relief to know you have found her,"  Alya tells him.   

      The girls wait to hear an answer about Marinette's whereabouts from Max.  They both think his behavior is rather strange indeed.       

      Marinette speaks up.  " Max, why are Chole and Alya here?"  She asks with a loud voice within the machine.

     "Chloe, did you hear what I did?   I heard Marinette speak."  Alya says.

     "See, Max.  Alya heard it too.  Where is Marinette anyway?"  Chloe asks.

      "Fine, I will show you, but believe me it came as a shock to me at first,"  Max tells them.

   Max points to the computer monitor. Chole and Alya roll their eyes, but take a look just to humor him.  "Max, is this a joke because it is not very funny?"  Chloe says.

    "Yes, Max what kinda tricks do you have up your sleeve?"  Alya asks. She thinks he has gone to far this time with his odd behavior.

    Alya and Chloe see sparkly, twinkle like stars when they look at Max's computer screen. It is no wonder they think he is trying to prank them.

   "Marinette are you alright in there?"  Max asks.

      "Yes, Max just peachy!"  Marinette answers. She can be seen by him again.

   "Are you any closer to finding a way to get me out of here?"  Marinette says. She looks angry and terrified at the same time.

  Alya's jaw drops when she sees her this time as well. 

    "Marinette you are the computer, how is this even possible?"  Alya asks.

    "Whoa, no wonder Max thought we would not believe him," Chole says. 

    "How did you find yourself in this mess anyway?"  Chloe asks.

   "I have been trapped in here since last Saturday,"  Marinette replies.

" Do not worry girl, your secret on where you are is safe with me," Alya says.

"Same here, I just hope Adrien does not find out," Chloe says. She thinks he will freak out if he does discover where Marinette is now."

   "I better go before my father calls me," Chloe says and heads on home.

   "I have homework to do, so bye!" Alya calls out. She thinks this is all so crazy.

  

     After Chloe and Alya left, Max is glad when no more visitors drop by that day. 

"Sorry about that Marinette, I did not know they would come over," Max says.

"It is ok,"  Marinette says. She thinks, Adrien is he okay.

"I will get back to work on getting you out of there,"  Max says. He looks at the situation with a bright side to it. He believes he will have her out of there in no time.

    Max sits down to write various ideas.
