"Girls I need you to cooperate with me today please!" As I still see them do the complete opposite of what I just asked.

This was my life every morning, every morning since the day Liza left. One day I was coming home to a loving wife and the complete family and the next thing you know, I was coming home to two girls wondering where their mom went. Liza left without a trace, she took all of her clothes, makeup, shoes, and so on while I was out on a work trip and the girls were spending the weekend with their grandma. All she left was a note on the kitchen counter stating that she was not happy and no longer wanted to be a mother. She expressed how she wanted to live a burden-free life away from it all. I have never felt more anger than when I was reading that letter. I could care less if she left me, I mean it hurt but it hurt more that she left the girls. Alyssa and Abigail, Ally and Abby, are the best thing that's ever happened to me, without a doubt. The day the doctor told Liza she was pregnant with twin girls, it changed me forever. At that time we had been married for less than a year and although I was thrilled at the thought, Liza was always a little weary about becoming a mother. I should have seen all the signs.

When she left, I had to become both the mom and the dad. I took almost a year off of work to help them adjust to life without their mother, but I knew eventually I would have to get back. I run a very successful publishing company called Dobrik LLC., and a lot of people depend on me to be at the top of my game. If it wasn't for my vice president Jason stepping up to the plate for me, I don't know where the company would be by now. Jason is not only my right hand man in business but he's also my best friend and he's helped me so much throughout this last year. The girls are only four years old, so they don't know everything that's happened. All they know is that mommy had to go and daddy and Uncle Jason are taking care of them now.

I have to go back to work in two weeks, and that also meant I had two weeks to find a nanny for the girls. The girls go to preschool now but it's only a half day, and I need someone to be there while I'm at the office. I need to find someone that I could trust and that the girls felt safe with. The nanny was also going to have to be live-in because there's times when I have to go on work trips or stay late in the office. Both of which I hate doing, but it's part of the job and the job pays the bills.

I had a couple of interviews this afternoon that my assistant Heath set up for me. I was interviewing alongside my girls because I wanted them to have a say in who gets to take care of them. They are only four but they've always had a keen sense to who they like and dislike. Once they feel like they dislike you, they won't want to be around you.

Ally and Abby are currently eating cereal and watching their Saturday morning cartoons. I take in this moment of peace and decide to look over the three applications for the women I'm supposed to meet in a couple of hours. The first one said that their name was Debra Sanders and she's 42. Debra doesn't have any kids of her own but has always loved them blah blah blah. I've seen many applications that state the same corny things, but I have to remind myself that I can't be to harsh since I need them to move in and start working in two weeks. The next one's name was Vanessa Houghton and she was 35. She has 15 years of nanny experience, which is outstanding. Her list of references is a mile long, so I know she's legit. The last one's name is Natalie Mariduena and it stated that she is 25 and has her certification in child care. She also stated that she used to work at a daycare and has never been a nanny but always wanted to be. Based on the qualifications alone, I already have a top contender in my head but we have to see what the girls have to say.

"Daddy can we play princesses and horses, pretty please?" Abby asked me.

The girls can get away with a lot around here, especially when they ask with their little sad puppy eyes. The girls are identical twins but both are very different in personality. Abby is my little sassy queen and Ally is a sweetheart. They both are the spitting image of their mother, and if Liza ever did one thing right in her life, it was to bring those two little girls into the world.
