Natalie's POV:
The things in my life were finally starting to fall in place for me. David has been so sweet and patient with me. When I saw him doubting himself yesterday, I had to reassure him that I liked him too. I only knew one way to do it. The kiss was magical. There is not other words to describe it.
My alarm went off at six this morning to get an early start on the day. I have to get the girls up in about an hour, so that gives me just enough time to get ready myself and make some breakfast. The chef only comes for dinners but that's okay since breakfast isn't that hard to do.
I wanted to spend some extra time getting ready today since I wanted to make a good impression on David's colleagues. I don't think an oversized t-shirt and leggings scream take me seriously. I also didn't want to show up in formal wear. I decide to go for a happy medium and choose some jeans and a nice blouse. I actually put on some makeup today, it was minimal but at least it was something. I straighten my hair quickly and head downstairs to get started on breakfast.
I decide to surprise the girls and make some chocolate chip pancakes which I found out recently is their favorite. I make them two each and serve them a glass of milk as well. They eat school lunches so it takes that task off my hands in the morning.
It was now 6:45 and time to wake up the girls. I head back upstairs and open their bedroom door quietly. They're still sound asleep and they look so peaceful. Abby is on the bottom bunk so I decide to wake her first. I rub her shoulder gently and with a soft voice say, "Good Morning sweetie." I see her eyes shoot open and she instantly yawns and smiles. I repeat the same thing with Ally in the top bunk and she reacts the same way. I give them a few minutes to gather themselves and fully wake up.
"Okay girls. Let's brush our teeth and get dressed for the day." I say smiling and opening their bedroom curtains to let the sunlight in.
"Once you're dressed, I'll do your hair and then you guys get to have a surprise breakfast!"
The "surprise" part sets them off in a hurry. They now no longer have sleepy and drowsy looks on their faces but instead they have a little more pep in their step.
Breakfast went by smoothly especially since they ate every piece of pancake they could. I dropped them off at school and decided to run some errands. I needed to decorate my room a bit more, I felt it was still too plain. I never did it before because I didn't know if I would be staying long but I feel like I belong now.
I picked up something at the local craft store and even did a little clothes shopping for myself. It's been a while since I felt this content and relaxed in my life. It felt like I was actually going to be able to enjoy and appreciate even the simple moments in life now that I was surrounded by so many amazing people.
Time flew by and it was now time to pick up the girls since they only go half day today. I race to the school and get there just in time to see two smiling little girls standing next to their teacher. There were a few other kids there too, so I didn't feel as bad being a few minutes late.
I put them both in their car seat and buckle them in before hopping back in the driver's seat.
"How was school girls?"
They both took turns going on and on about all the different tasks and activities they had throughout the day. They're in separate classes but do very similar things.
"We're going to go see Daddy at work today!"
"Yay!" was heard from the back.
The GPS signals me to turn right and I see the label of the company plastered on the outside. I search for a parking spot and finally find one and it's close to David's car. I get out of the car and help the girls unbuckle their seat belts. I get nervous suddenly. I realize I'm going to be introduced to his friends and colleagues he's known for years and we haven't even established what we are yet or what happened yesterday.
