Both Sides of the story (Jordan Eckes)

Chapter 1

   Today was the day that my band, Third is King, was gonna get a call from our manager to see if we were accepted to be on Warped Tour. We all sat around the living room with the house phone in the middle of the coffee table. Since we have time, I'll introduce everyone. My name Riley Miller, I play bass and sing in the band. Unfortunatly, I am the only girl in the band, but it isn't that bad until you tour in a 12 passenger van with them. Anyways, Alec plays the drums, Asher plays rhythm guitar, Hunter is the lead guitarist , and Dustin is the lead singer. Alec and Asher were both twin brothers, except Asher's eyes were a greyish color.

   Dustin had sandy blonde hair and dark blue eyes and Hunter had black hair and dark green eyes. The twins both had dark brown hair. On the other hand, I have dark brown hair that goes down to my shoulders, bangs, and hazel eyes. We have been a band for almost 3 years now and our goal was to be on Warped Tour.

Ring Ring!

We all looked at each other and grabbed for the phone. I finally got my hands on it  and picked up, I hit the speaker button so we could all hear the news.

"Hey guys, so I know you wanna hear the good news first..... well there isn't bad news to tell so can you guess what the good news is?", we all looked at each other with smiles growing on our faces.

"WE'RE GOING TO WARPED TOUR!!!", we screamed in unison.

"Okay Okay I know you guys are excited, but by tomorrow I need you guys to figure out a setlist and practice so we will be ready. Reminder, Warped tour starts in  3 days so try to get all yur crap packed.", we were too excited to stand still and listen to Carter, our tour manager.

"By the way before I go, you guys are going to be in a bus on this tour. Anyway, I'll check in with you guys in two days. I expect you guys to have a setlist and most of your equipment ready. I gotta go but congratulations guys..and girls", Carter hung up and we all cheered.

I can't believe we are gonna be on warped tour this year. Especially with the amazing bands that are going like, Crown the Empire, We the Kings, and Yellowcard. But we are looking forward to see We are The In Crowd. They are one of my favorite bands of All time.

"We have to celebrate. We finally reached a goal that we have been wanting to reach for 3 years now, maybe even more.", Hunter had his phone out already inviting people over for a party.

Hunter is the party animal in the band. I'm pretty sure he came out of the womb partying. Alex, Asher, and Dustin started to invite other people too. I couldn't really think of anyone to invite, so I take my phone out and look at my contacts, until one contact caught my eye. My good friend Paul Wilson from the band Chunk! No Captain Chunk! I pressed the call icon and raised my phone up to my ear. It rang a couple times until he finally picked up.

"Hey Paul, It's Riley. I was wondering if you guys wanted to come?"

"Hey Riley, why are you guys partying?"

"We just got the call that we are gonna be on Warped Tour this year!"

"We are too, I'm so excited to hang out all summer."

"Me too"

"Well we will be at the party because we love you", I smiled at that part.

"Oh joy See you guys soon"

"See you soon", I tapped the end button and stuffed my phone in my back jean pocket.

I walked to the kitchen where the guys were eating a container full of oreos. I swear all the boys do is eat, they are human vaccum cleaners.

"So what are we gonna do for the setlist", I grabbed an oreo and stuffed it into my mouth. (thats what she said)

All of sudden I had 4 pairs of puppy dog eyes pleading. They never liked deciding for the setlist so they always made me choose the songs.

"Ugh, Fine", I grabbed a notepad and pen from behind Alec and walked to the living room.

We always end with Contagious because it was our first ever single. I brought the notepad back to the kitchen and passed it around, so the boys can look it over. All they did was nod and pass it to the next person.

"Okay well since we have the setlist down, thanks to Riley, all we need to do is practice and pack up our shit", Asher took another sip of his drink.

"We'll just practice tomorrow, but right now we are gonna party", The boys cheered in unison.

That's when the bell rang and Hunter went over and get it. After a half hour, most of the house was filled with people holding red solo cups that was filled with some type of alchol. While waiting for Paul and the rest of C!NCC! , I bumped into some fans who wanted pictures. Of course I took the pictures with them, I wasn't just gonna say no. The fans are a big part of why we are touring and even going on Warped Tour.

I heard a very familiar French accent and ran in that direction. I saw Eric and Paul standing in the doorway talking to Dustin. When Paul saw me and ran over and engulfed me in a hug. It's been a while since I've seen him.

"It's been so long", I looked up at him and looked over to Johnathan who was just walking over.

"JOHN", I ran over to him and jumped onto him.

Johnathan laughed and tried to stand up correctly.

"Nice to see you too Ri", he hugged me and looked around the house.

"Who are you looking for?", I looked around with him.

"Bert", finally he turned back to me and smiled.

"Je te verrai plus tard", Johnathan said and kept looking around for Bertrand.

I turned back to Paul and he wasn't there. Instead I saw him in a corner flirting with a cute little brunette. I let them do their thing and walked to the kitchen to get a soda. I sat down on the counter, while Hunter was doing shots with a random group of people he most likely never talked to in his life. Sometimes I wish I was as social as him or the other guys.

I grabbed another soda and a bowl of chips that was sitting on the counter. I was going to go upstairs and watch one of my favorite movies ever. I walked upstairs and passed a crowded hallway, praying that nobody was doing anything in my room. I slowly opened my door and peeked in. Everything was how I left it thankfully. I walked inside shut the door and locked it so nobody comes in. My favorite bass was sitting on its stand in the corner. It was a nice dark blue color and I only played it during very special shows.

I sat on my bed and put my favorite movie into the cd outlet in my laptop. I shut the light off and watched the movie.

*THE NEXT MORNING*

I woke up to Alec banging on his drums. I rubbed my eyes and reached for my glasses, it was too early for this. I dragged myself downstairs to try and shut him up. There wasn't a mess nor were there people laying on the couch or on the floor. Dustin must've kicked everyone out before I woke up.

"Good Morning sunshine", Asher walked out of the kitchen with a plate of blueberry pancakes and some slices of bacon on the side.

"Good Morning, this is obviously for me", I grabbed the plate and went to the living room where Dustin, Alec, and Hunter were already set up. They even brought out my bass and plugged it into an amp.

"We have two more days til wego on tour, so sit down and lets play", Dustin pointed to my bass.

The next chapter goes right into Warped Tour, I chose the lineup from this year (2014) because i am writing this in 2014 so...
