Disaster Strikes

After one year, we had bolstered our defenses. We were planning for an all out war against the Old Ones. We had to be as prepared as possible. We had taken down another monster this year, leaving them with 5 left (One of them being Uc'thabbir), but they were the strongest yet. Uth'cla'nith, the psychic, all knowing monster, is searching for our base. We had to strike and take him out ASAP. We set out tomorrow, we are ready to take down Uth'cla'nith, and maybe one other, with the help of Uc'thabbir. I walked to Mike's office, "You ready?" I asked. "I'm not sure. Do you feel it too?" He said. I asked "Feel what?. I don't understand." He replied "Something isn't right. It's the same feeling as when the first Old One appeared. Don't you feel it?" I remembered back to the time when we were first separated. At least I tried to, until history repeated itself. A horrible metal creaking noise echoed from above, We saw the roof of our complex torn right off. Immediately I knew what it was. Cthulhu, Again towering over our base, staring down at us. Death was in his eyes, and that same paralyzing stare was on us. His tentacles wrapped around our base, ripping it apart to pieces. I rushed to my aircraft, but it was beneath his 10 ton foot. Mike had made it to a plasma tank, he fired, sending a hail of lasers towards the monsters direction, but it barely made a scratch. I forced myself to move again, this time heading to the missile pods. When I looked up, I saw Cthulhu looking straight at me. I locked on right to his eyes, prepared to fire, and was knocked to the ground easily by his tentacles. I picked myself up, only to be grabbed and lifted above the monsters mouth. I thought that this was the end, that we had failed, I gave up hope. Off in the distance, I heard a roar, but it meant nothing to me at this point. I was going to die.
