"i swear to god!" dejah shouted as she bursted into fits of laughter. mattia continued to aggressively kiss her face while gripping her head to keep her in place. "okay!" she whined, slapping him away to which they both laughed at.

practice ended twenty minutes ago. mattia just decided to wait with dejah until her "brother" came to pick her up. quotations around brother cause' he knew she didn't have one, but from what she explained to him, he was like one to her.

"you sure you don't want to ride with me?" his dad was getting off of work in a couple minutes. dejah was supposed to been gone so it kind of made him feel bad that she was just outside waiting for so long and he was about to leave soon. "i know your tired,"

she puffed, "i'll be fine. he said he was on his way and if not i'll just walk," she was beat from practice, but she was kind of scared to meet mattia's dad.

she stood in between his legs, so he just turned her and pulled her to sit down on his leg. "i don't want you out here though," it was already late. "i can just tell my dad to go home and we can walk to yours together,"

"no," dejah laughed. she felt her phone vibrate, "that's him anyways. he said he's pulling in," and indeed he was. he was driving her moms bmw since it was the only car available to him at the moment.

"i'll wait for your dad to come though. just let me put my stuff in the car," and she ran to the car with her bags before mattia could object.

"hi brother!" she squealed as soon as she got to the car. she tossed her things in the back before poking her head into the passenger window.

"what are you doing? get in?" and here came mr. flashy with the attitude. josh was from florida like dejah. he moved to california on a sports scholarship and now that he hurt himself and stopped talking to his dad, dejah's mom wanted to step in and help him for a bit.

dejah rolled her eyes. "you had me waiting twenty minutes for your bum ass so now you have to wait until my friend gets picked up," she childishly stuck her tongue out before going back to mattia.

she knew josh debated if he should speed off but she would call her mom and he would be getting popped upside the head for it.

"what'd he say?" mattia questioned, opening his arms for dejah to sit back on his lap. instead she sat beside him, throwing a leg over his lap.

"he told me to get in but i told him he has to wait till' you leave," she shortened her words. "anyway. how's your little tik tok fame? i haven't kept myself updated, but i know you hit nine hundred k,"

"i been hit a mili," mattia looked shocked that she didn't know. it was also a relief because she wasn't up his ass about the stupid app.

dejah gasped, "really! and you didn't tell me?" she was genuinely excited for him. "wow, that's so fake,"

he laughed, "if you posted on your account, you would know,"

"i'm not a tik toker," she sounded confused at the term. "i just need to get used to it,"

mattia scoffed, "if you can-" he began to mimick her videos on snapchat. the duck lips, the hair behind the ears, the peace sign. "-do that, then i'm sure you can easily hit one million without my help,"

"the amount of time i did scroll through that app, it's always pretty white girls," she pointed out. "only when i started following black creators and shit like that did my for you page switch,"

"exactly. you can be the hype," he poked her leg. "watch, tomorrow i'ma post a video and then tell the boys to hype it up,"

dejah shrugged, "i'm legit just gonna' get dragged by hella girls,"

"and you think i'll let that happen,"

"nah," she was honest. "i think they'll mostly be shocked that you talk to a black girl," that was also very honest.

mattia balled his face up. "i date who i want to date," from a distance, he could see his dad pulling up.

dejah knew it was his dad as well, removing her leg from around him. "and so do i," she didn't care what they had to say. "i'll see you tomorrow, yeah?" she kissed his cheek.

"of course," he kissed her lips. something he hadn't did in a while. "see you later,"

"see ya," she smiled, more to herself.

a car honking brought her out her trance, "c'mon now!"
