Chapter 5

Multiple days had passed, Aurora and Cal continued to grow closer. Thankfully Cere had fixed her hearing devices. Their journey to Kashyyyk was taking way longer than expected. Greez had taken the ship out of hyperdrive for the day and made a stop at the nearby planet for them to rest. However, Greez and Cere had gone into town on the planet they stopped on. Which left Aurora, Cal and BD-1 on the Mantis by themselves.

Aurora and Cal were currently hanging out on the sofa, Cal was sitting down while Aurora had her head placed in his lap, BD had taken his place on Aurora's stomach. The two of them were laughing at a comment BD had made. "I don't think that's possible BD." Aurora stated causing the droid to beep back excitedly. Cal smiled at the interaction the two were having. Cal was looking at BD, who beeped and shook his head but then Cal turned to look at Aurora. Her head turned as BD moved onto the small table in front of the sofa.

       Aurora then turned to look at Cal and she met with his eyes, which were already looking at hers. She blushed slightly and Cal took in her features. "Cal?" Aurora asked him softly which caught his attention. "Yeah?"

Aurora sat up and faced him. "You keep looking at me so I'm assuming something is wrong." She stated and waited for him to answer. "Nothing is wrong. I've just been thinking about a lot lately." He said truthfully. "About what?" Aurora questioned as she tilted her head to the right. "About everything we talked about on Zeffo" He said slowly.

     "Why are you still thinking about it?" Aurora questioned him again, looking down at her hands. "Have you ever wanted to go back? T-To the way things were before the purge?" He decided to ask her. Aurora thought for a moment. "For me to want that...I would first have to miss that version of my life." She started but paused for a moment before continuing.

"However, I don't remember that version of my life so therefore I do not miss it, I don't think about going back to that." Aurora stated calmly.

      "Sounds reasonable." He said softly. "You ask a lot of questions." She mumbled as she put her head back in his lap. "I like asking you questions." He said and smiled softly. "Why?" She asked him, curious about what he was going to say.

"You always answer them and you tell me the truth. You are honest. So it means I get to learn more about you." Cal said as he messed with the ends of her hair, which was sprawled out on his lap and the sofa. She nodded and looked back at BD who started talking again.

Aurora had eventually been able to fall asleep, Cal moved her hair out of her face.  BD was curled against her side. Now BD and Cal quietly talked to each other. BD softly hummed a beep and Cal shook his head. "What are you talking about?" Cal questioned the droid. Which resulted in the droid beeping again.

"I have no idea what you are beeping about." Cal said softly and looked down at BD. Which BD shook his head and beeped a little louder at Cal. "Well of course I care about her, she's my friend but that doesn't mean anything." Cal replied to BD, right when he did the hatch opened. Greez and Cere had walked in with a few things from town.

They both stopped and looked at the scene in front of them. "Damn kid. What are you guys still doing out here? We thought you'd be asleep." Greez said to Cal.

"Well one of us is asleep." Cal said as he looked between the two standing in front of him. "You look tired Cal, you two should go to your rooms and go to bed. We should reach Kashyyyk tomorrow." Cere stated and Cal nodded.
