Aurora was trying to catch her breath as she took down another stormtrooper. Her and Cal had kind of gotten split up. She looked up at the sky, a little out of breath. She heard shots in the distance and she quickly started to jog towards the sound, hoping to find Cal. She rounded the corner, heading down the alleyway. She soon saw shadows and quickly pressed herself up against the wall.
"Hey! Over there!" Aurora heard and she looked forward to see another alley connecting to the one she was currently in. A stormtrooper fired and she saw something headed her way. Her eyes widened as she realized what it was, she moved out of the way but was still thrown forward from the explosion.
She looked up seeing the stormtrooper, which she had quickly realized, had a rocket launcher. "You've got to be joking." She stated as the trooper sent another her way. She pushed herself up, running as another one went off. She was in the open and she ran into a few stormtroopers. She groaned in frustration and soon began to attack them. As she was down to the last one, the two of them saw that rocket launcher stormtrooper sending a rocket their way.Aurora pulled the stormtrooper in front of her and pushed him forward. She hoped he would contact the rocket far enough from her, since she shoved him but it wasn't enough, she still fell and landed on her back, her vision was blurry and the world was muffled. She focused on the sky above her, she slowly got herself to sit up and moaned in pain.
When her vision focused she saw Cal standing instead of the stormtroopers, who were now laying on the ground. She watched him turned to look at her with concern. She then also noticed the ringing in her ears, most likely from the explosion. "Aurora, are you alright?" He asked her but she couldn't hear him.
She tilted her head in confusion but soon her hand flew to the devices behind her ears. She pulled them off to look at them and noticed they were broken. "Shit." She mumbled and Cal now kneeled next to her. "Are you okay?" He asked again, luckily this time she could hear him.
"It's broken." She stated sadly and Cal became even more worried. "What is?" He questioned her and grabbed her hands. She looked up at him. "You have to tell me if you are in pain. I-I need to know if you are hurt." He spoke softly to her. "Are you okay?" He questioned again and Aurora realized what he was asking.
"Well my back hurts like hell but besides that I should be fine." She told him, he sighed. "What's broken?" He asked her but she had a hard time.
"What? I can see that you are talking but I'm having a hard time trying to make out the words you are saying." She stated. BD beeped at Cal.
Cal looked down to look at the devices in her hands. He recognized them as the ones she showed him earlier.
Aurora slowly stood up and Cal was quick to help her. "You need to go back to the ship." He informed her but she shook her head. "No, I'm fine. I will be alright." She told him. "That wasn't a suggestion. I don't want you getting anymore hurt." He stated gently.
"You are not benching me, Cal please don't." She begged him. "Aurora, I'm not benching you. You need to get those fixed so you can help me later. I also don't want you to get even more hurt." He spoke calmly and softly.
She went to step forward but felt pain. She cried out in pain and almost fell over. Almost.
Cal caught her. "Aurora. Hey, listen." He spoke softly, which got her attention. Their faces were barely inches apart. "I need you to go back. I need you to be safe." He said sincerely, she had an arm around him and the other had a tight grip his forearm. He had an arm around her waist and the other on her shoulder. Aurora noticed how close they were.
"Fine." She said which caused Cal to relax. "But I will walk back myself. You should continue instead of worrying about me. I'll tell you when I get back." She told him. He nodded and BD beeped at her but she didn't notice. "BD says be careful on your way back." Cal informed her, continuing to talk slow enough for her to hopefully understand. "I promise I will." She turned to tell BD. Cal slowly let go of her and Aurora took a couple steps away from him. He could see she was in pain with every step she took.
