(This beautiful song is by Ben Platt and I absolutely adore it. Me and a friend of mine came up for the idea of this oneshot so I hope you enjoy!)

Brendon and Dallon has been best friends ever since they were little. They did everything together, you would hardly ever find them apart.

They went through school together, they would always hang out, they'd sing together, and they were awfully close.

If you saw them, you would immediately presume they were a couple, but they weren't.

Brendon did have a crush on Dallon, but he said nothing because he knew Dallon didn't feel the same. No, Dallon didn't feel the same at all, in fact, he had a girlfriend.

When he first introduced her to Brendon, the raven haired boy felt his heart break a little, but he put up a smile for Dallon.

As long as Dallon was happy, he was happy.

Whether he be happy with Brendon or his girlfriend.

Brendon continued holding all of his feelings in for Dallon the whole time.

He didn't tell him about the crush, he didn't tell him how his heart broke whenever he saw him and her together, he didn't tell him how much he wanted to slap the pesky girl that called him the nicknames that only Brendon was allowed to call him.

He told him absolutely nothing.

And here he was now, sitting at Dallon and her wedding.

He was absolutely furious, and on the verge of crying but he kept up his tough act, for Dallon's sake.

Since Dallon new he could sing, he had asked him to preform for them at the reception with any song he liked.

Little did Dallon know that this was the day he was going to get all of his feelings out.

He was going to tell Dallon how he truly felt, then he was going to leave, never to look back.

Everyone was currently sitting down and either talking or eating, Dallon and his now wife were sitting at a table that was closest to the mic stand where Brendon would sing.

Brendon was now setting up the mic and everything before he starts to speak.

"Alright, Hey everybody my names Brendon Urie," He begins, and everyone immediately falls silent, their eyes landing on him.

"So I'm gonna be singing for you, this was Dallon's request so you can blame him if you don't like it." He smiles a little as he makes eye contact with Dallon but his heart also shatters a bit more.

"Dallon is my best friend, so of course I couldn't say no. This song is called In Case You Don't Live Forever, and I wrote it myself," He finishes, and he takes in a breath, the tears he was holding back were almost becoming to much to bear.

He gestured for the sound guy to start the music, it was an old tune on a piano that he and Dallon and made up.

Everyone was mostly quiet, but Brendon knew they could sense his sadness. He didn't dare look up, knowing he would be met with the icy blue eyes that he loved.

"I, I've carried this song in my mind
Listen, it's echoing in me

I'm pretty sure it would kill me

He's doing everything in his power now to not cry, but soon enough he knew he was gonna fail.

"I have a hero whenever I need one

Deciding it was now or never, Brendon looks straight up and makes direct eye contact with Dallon as he sings the next words. He knew Dallon got the hint by the way his eyes widen and his jaw went slack.

"In case you don't live forever, let me tell you now
I love you more than you'll ever wrap your head around
In case you don't live forever, let me tell you the truth
I'm everything that I am,"

He looks down again and the tears finally roll down his cheeks. He looks up at the sky and the beautiful sunset. 'Only a few more words,' he tells himself.

"Whoa... whoa...
In case you don't live forever, let me tell you the truth
As long as I'm here as I am, so are you."

He steps away from the mic and immediately walks away, not wanting to face anyone at the reception, especially Dallon.

He makes his way through the people quickly, hot tears still rolling down his cheeks and down to his chin, but he could honestly care less.

He told his crush how he felt, even if he was too late.

He makes it to the area where the cars are parked and where there's no one just standing around since they were all at the reception.

He finally breaks down and lets out a soft, yet broken sob.

Since he was so set on getting out of the venue, he hadn't noticed Dallon quickly stand and follow him out to the front, a confused and hurt expression on his face.

"Brendon..," Dallon says softly when he sees the shorter leaning up against the wall of the building with tear stains on his cheeks.

Brendon doesn't even look at him and he shakes his head, before pushing himself up off the wall and a bit ahead of Dallon.

"N-No, we don't need to talk, it's alright."

"Brendon, no, we need to talk about this. I need to talk to you."

Brendon just shakes his head and laughs breathily, before turning to face Dallon.

He had originally had his back to the tall man so he could never really see how much of a broken wreck Brendon really was.

"N-No. Go be happy, you d-don't need me you have her. I j-just had to get that off my c-chest. Dallon I love you with all my heart, even if you will never feel the same. I will never stop loving you, ever. I hope you have the best life with her," Brendon says, slowly.

He smiles a forced smile before walking to his car, leaving Dallon with tears in his eyes, and a broken heart.
