Here is Part 2...I just couldn't leave it where I did. If you read the first part I did edit it again. No major changes though.

ENJOY!

Nines POV

December 24, 2040 - 4:00 P.M.

In the bottom corner of my optical display I watch the time tick away. The shift cannot end soon enough. I need to leave to prepare Belle's gift. Detective Reed rises from his desk gathering his belongings. A quick glance around the bullpen shows several other officers, including the Lieutenant and RK800, doing the same.

Following their lead I stand pushing my chair up to the desk walking briskly to the exit. A swirl of familiar brown hair passes by causing me to pause. "Detective," I call.

She stops turning back with her signature soft smile. My thirium pump falters momentarily before beginning to race. "Hello Nines," she greets turning fully toward me. My thought processors halt all thoughts on how much I enjoy the way she says my name. I see two duffel bags in her hands.

"Shift is over. Are you not leaving to prepare for the Christmas Party," I inquire politely hiding how breathless I feel despite breathing being unnecessary.

She laughs quietly, "Oh! No, I'm not. There are still things I need to do for tonight, but I have everything I need right here." Belle's smile widens lifting the two bags slightly.

"Very well," I nod, "I must go. See you tonight, Detective." She gives me a farewell as I turn on my heel walking calmly out of the building before speeding off.

The jewelery store isn't far from the station. Slipping inside the door just before they close I approach the counter. "Good evening. How can I help you," the young woman behind the counter addresses.

Stopping at the counter placing my hands behind my back I reply, "Hello. I had a special order that I need to pick up. Order number: 7826190"

"One moment," she smiles leaving her space to disappear into a back room. I take the moment to glance around fighting back the sudden nervousness blossoming in my chest. Within moments the petite blonde returns opening the small velvet box for inspection. "Here you are."

Taking it from her hands I examine the item flipping it over. Satisfied I thank the woman before hurrying to Gavin's apartment.

December 24, 2040 - 6:30 P.M.

I send another glare towards the crude Detective as we walk into the DPD. We're thirty minutes late to the party because Detective Reed was running late per the norm. My expression melts almost instantly as Belle's laughter filters through my audio processors. The sound like that of tinkling bells that I can discern from the breakroom full of chatter.

As the two of us walk into the space together I'm stunned first by the lights looped around the tops of the walls close to the ceiling and the small trees at the center of each table. Food and drinks established strategically so the area doesn't appear crowded.

"Nines! Gavin! You made it," Belle calls happily. My eyes instantly snap to her sucking in an unnecessary breath at the sight of her. Normally wavy brown hair is curled to perfection underneath a Santa hat. A red sweater hangs off of a porcelain shoulder paired with form-fitting jeans and ankle boots. She's stunning and the bright smile on her blush pink lips sends my thirium pump into overdrive.
