"seriously ricky! have you lost your mind? it is not your business to tell her who she can and cannot date." leighton said loudly over the music, as she, ricky and big red walked the gym. "i know man, that was mad harsh. you owe her an apology." big red said as they briefly stopped.
leighton pointed to him and nodded, "agreed. i will go with you to be sure you do it too. that was uncalled for. you would definitely hate it if someone said you couldn't date me. even if we aren't currently." ricky knew his friends had a point. his words were uncalled for and he thought gina and him were somewhat friends. knowing it was wrong to judge. leighton was right about him possibly angering at the fact someone said he couldn't date her.
"people are allowed to go out with whoever they want to go out with." big red shrugged. "yeah, whatever went down between nini and ej, went down. you don't get to stop either from going separate ways. got it?" leighton said crossing her arms. "i've been falling asleep to dr. phil lately. it is really taking a toll on me." the red headed friend said.
leighton saying, "no it's good. i enjoy this side of you." hyping him up and ricky just frustrated with his actions. "can we just leave. all three of us can watch movies tonight. sounds good to me."
"now? it's homecoming. you two should be finding eligible hunnies for me to dance with since you both will be dancing with each other." big red said. leighton looked around, not wanting to leave and suddenly spotted gina and ej at each other's necks.
"guys look something's happening." she said and both boys turned to where her vision was. they couldn't figure out what they were saying, big red stepping in to poorly translate lip reading. "what is wrong with you ej?" he started imitating gina, then to ej, "i'm intimidated by how fly big red looks in that suit he borrowed from ricky." leighton sighed deeply.
"i can't believe i almost believed you knew what they were saying." the girl said as big red continued saying all the wrong things. "dude, you're an idiot." ricky said putting his arm around leighton's shoulders as they all laughed. the trio continued watching but saw gina pick up a cup of punch and throw it all over ej's head. they all gasped as that happened and watched gina go by them.
leighton moved from ricky's arm and spoke, "now is your chance to apologize. let's go." she dragged him hoping to catch gina before leaving. "coming big red?" the girl asked turning to face her friend, who shook his head no and said he wanted to dance and backed away doing a horrible dance move to the theatre table.
ricky was being stubborn and held on to his suit jacket as leighton's heels clicked again the hallway floor. "now remember. apologize and maybe we can leave to watch movies. hasn't been that great of a dance and i know you're over it." leighton said spotting gina.
"hey, gina!" leighton yelled for her. gina turned to face her, a frustrated look on her face. "hi 'el', whats up?" she asked putting on her purple coat. "ricky here has a few words to tell you. before you leave." the brunette said pushing forward ricky to apologize.
"need to borrow a buck?" ricky asked awkwardly. this caused leighton to mumble an 'oh my god'.
putting her arm through the jacket she responded, "you do not want to clap at me right now. i will clap back." gina said beginning to walk away. leighton wildly waved her hands towards her friend's direction as a sign to get ricky to go after her. he did and leighton smiled while following.
