The morning came a few hours later. With it came the sunlight spilling in through the still open doors. Sesshomaru looked up from his spot on the bed to Shania as she slowly opened her eyes. Her hand shifted and she pulled away removing her grip from his fur. He found himself annoyed by this. He had liked her staying close to him. The woman sat up in the bed and sighed. The emotions on her face changed so quickly he found himself curious of her thoughts . When she set her feet down on the floor her head turned to night stand.
Sesshomaru lifted his head as she opened the drawer and pulled out a picture. It held herself and another man at he side. She seemed younger and happier. The man seemed happy. Was this her ex husband? The one she had caught cheating on her? His eyes narrowed as he memorised this man's features. He wasn't a challenge but, sesshomaru found himself enjoying the thoughts of ending the man. His eyes turned to Shania who stared At the picture with a dark look. This caused him to stand and make his way across the bed and plop down next to her , hitting her arm in the process, causing her to drop the picture. As the shatter of glass registered he held her gaze .

She wanted to pick the picture up. To scold the dog next to her but his eyes held deep concern as well as worry. She sighed and spoke "thank you sesshomaru. I kinda needed that." The dog snorted and pushed his head against her gently.
To be honest she wasn't sure WHY she still hung on to her ex husband. She knew what he had done but, her heart still hurt. She loved him for so long. Six years down the drain. The only thing good from it were the two boys she could now hear running up the stairs To her room.
She watched as her oldest barreled in followed by her youngest . Their eyes cleared of sleep and still in their jammies. She watched as raiden went straight for sesshomaru and threw his arms around the large dogs neck before nuzzling his face into the fur. Conan followed not long after scratching behind his ear and nuzzling the other side of his neck.
Shania was actually surprised to see how well the dog handled the children and found herself imagining how the actual sesshomaru would react to such a thing. She giggled which caused sesshomaru to turn and look at her . The way he was looking at her.. she swore it seemed as if he had an eyebrow quirked up and she couldn't help it but, she started laughing . For the first time in a long time she was truly laughing and it felt amazing. Sesshomaru seemed to contemplate something as he watched her laugh. She discovered exactly what when she found herself buried under the k9 and her two sons . She began laughing harder as the dog stared down at her with twitching ears.
When she was finally able to calm herself down she reached up and stroked his cheek. "Thanks sesshomaru. I don't think I've laughed like that in a long time and I really needed it. " He snorted in response before pushing his face into her hand . When her son's got up he moved off her and allowed her to sit up. "Mooommmm I'm hungry." Conan said with a pout. She shook her head smiling gently " have you had breakfast?" At his nod she sighed. "You're always hungry. It's like there is a black hole in your stomach." Her son giggled in response before he left the room . Raiden plopped down in her lap and cuddled up to her taking deep inhales of her scent. This was their normal morning routine. He needed her to ground himself. To help him with his senses as they became to overwhelmed. She stroked his hair as she sang gently to him. The words to Hushabye mountain. The song had always been a particular favorite for herself and raiden to help him calm.
"A gentle breeze from Hushabye Mountain

Softly blows over Lullaby Bay,
It fills the sails of boats that are waiting,
Waiting to sail your worries away." She watched as sesshomaru laid down watching their interaction with interest as raiden snuggled closer.

"It isn't far to Hushabye Mountain,
And your boat waits down by the quay.
The winds of night sdo softly are sighing,
Soon they will fly your troubles to sea.

So close your eyes on Hushabye Mountain,
Wave goodbye to cares of the day,
And watch your boat from Hushabye Mountain
Sail far away from Lullaby Bay." At this point she was sure raiden had dozed in her lap which meant he had struggled to sleep last night. She would likely keep him home from school today as the likelihood he was getting sick was rather big. She gently stroked his hair as she continued singing

"So close your eyes on Hushabye Mountain,
Wave goodbye to cares of the day,
And watch your boat from Hushabye Mountain
Sail far away from Lullaby Bay."
When she finished she wrapped her arms around him and used the bed frame to pull herself to a stand while he snored softly in her arm. Once she was standing she laid him into her bed and covered him with her blanket. She then turned and walked to the doors of her balcony and closed them softly and pulled the black out curtains closed. The room wasn't completely dark but it was dark enough for raiden to rest. She turned to find sesshomaru standing next to her and nearly jumped. When he pushed his head into her hand she smiled and gently stroked behind his ear "let's go eat." Then while remaining quiet enough for her son to sleep, they made their way down stairs to get breakfast.
