Ashton and I parted, as I spun around. Calum was standing there with his mouth wide open."I-"
Ashton quickly glanced at me "We-" he added.
Cal's mouth snapped shut. He started waving his hands at us. "I don't wanna know. I don't want to get involved. I just came to tell you guys that you better get to the party"
I was still in shock so Ashton spoke up. "We'll be there in a minute. You go and we will catch up"
At any other time I would have adored the confused look on Calum's face. However, right now seeing it only sparked panic. Panic over the possibility of him telling someone.
I felt Ashton's hand on my shoulder, I involuntarily shrugged it off. "Let's go" I said softly.
"We aren't going to talk about it?" He said.
I didn't turn around to look at him. I stared at the ground. Kissing Ashton felt weird. Like it happened behind Michael's back. Him and I were never together or anything but I for some reason I felt he had a right to know.
"We shouldn't have" I stated and walked away. He silently followed. At the beach there was over a hundred people. They weren't kidding about the kind of party Tara could throw.
Without thinking I looked around for Michael. You would think it would be easy to find a boy with green highlighter hair.
"He's over there" Ashton pointed to the left. Michael was there, holding a red cup and talking to a group of girls. One standing a bit too close. She was a tall blonde with her boobs practically hanging out of her shirt. I assumed that was Tara. He looked uncomfortable. It took everything in me to not go over there and slap her.
I looked up at Ashton who seemed to be glaring as well. "So that's her?" I said "doesn't seem like his type."
"Blonde?"
"Slutty" I said
He smirked, showing his dimples. "She's not his type. She's a distraction. Well she was"
I couldn't understand how Ashton could let him get involved with her. He was so protective over him now. What was different then? "Were as much of an ass to her as you were to me? Or is there an exception for skanks with huge boobs?" I said a little too harshly.
Ashton frowned. I instant felt bad. "I'm sorry" I said
"Don't be" he tilted his head down. "Michael never told us about her and what was going on. We assumed he was taking the time to get over his ex. I thought he was better off single."
I kept forgetting how sensitive of a subject Michael's past could be. I just decided to let it go "Let's go get a drink" I said
Ashton then did something I wasn't expecting. He giggled. "Remember what happened the last time you drank?"
I completely forgot about the night I spent with Michael. When I was completely wasted. "I'm not going to get wasted, asshole. I just want one beer"
I was on my way to a cooler when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I was shocked to see Michael standing behind me. "Can we talk" he said
I actually hesitated. I knew he wasn't really mad at me, but that doesn't excuse the way he acted. "That depends. Are you here for friendly conversation or are you going to yell at me again for being overprotective?"
"ouch" Ashton added
"I deserved that one" Michael said
The whole plan was for me to pretend I didn't even know Michael. So why was he suddenly talking to me. It was getting late and we only had a couple hours left. I didn't feel like playing games with him. "Why are you even talking to me? Don't you have Tara to entertain?"
