Riley.

I stood in the parking lot of my school, dreading what lied ahead. We arrived a half an hour early, hoping no one would really be there yet. As far as I knew no one found out the mysterious girl with Michael was me.

Carly met me at the entrance. "You ready?" she asked

I nodded and we walked right in. Everything seemed normal. No one looked at me like I had seven heads. Well almost no one. Adam stood at his locker, glaring at me. "Someone looks angry" Carly said, obviously seeing Adam.

He slammed his locker and marched right over to us. So much for no drama. My heart raced as he closed the space between us. I felt lightheaded. I wanted to puke or pass out. Maybe both.

"Adam" i said flatly.

"Can we talk" his tone frightened me, Carly didn't seem to notice.

"You want to?" she asked me without even looking at him.

I couldn't say no. "Yeah, I'll see you later."

The moment she left the rage in his eyes was unmistakable. I had seen that look too many times before. It usually ended badly.

"I know it's you in those pictures"

I stared at the floor. I couldn't deny it. There was nothing I could say. "I-"

"So you'll fuck a guy you aren't even dating. A guy who doesn't even love you at some party on a beach. You're fucking kidding me, right?" he hissed

I didn't know what to say. I knew how bad it sounded. "It wasn't planned Adam. It just kinda happened."

A vein popped out in his neck and he clenched his fists at his side. "Were you fucking him when we were together?"

My mouth flew open. How could he think that. "How could you even ask me something like that? Of course I wasn't. It happened once."

"Once" he laughed, but there was no humor involved. "Once. Meaning that was your first time, wasn't it"

I studied my grey converse, the same pair I've had for years. He grabbed my arm. "Answer me, Riley"

"yes" i squeaked

He squeezed my arm even harder. The hallway was filling with students but it looked like nothing but a normal conversation. Like Adam had just placed a hand on my arm. "here's what's going to happen you little slut. You're going to break things off with that Gerard Way wannabe and you're gonna be my girl again."

My eyes shot up. No, he couldn't make me do that. "What, no."

"yes" he spat. "because not only do I know your little secret, I know a few things about that little Australian pretty boy."

"I don't give two shits about you telling anyone about what happened, Adam. And as for Michael, there is nothing to know. He's in a band, they took some time off. End of story" i growled, but I was a horrible liar and Adam could tell. He saw right through me.

He smirked, that terrifying smirk that would've sent any freshman girl to her knees. "I know what he did before he left L.A, Riley. The dealing and sleeping around. A got a call the other night from a friend of his, maybe you know her."

I didn't have a heart at this point. It was on the floor. "Tara" i mumbled.

"bingo"

The warning bell rang. "I need to go" i could barely find my voice.

He released my arm and leaned towards me, his lips brushing my ear. "You have three days, baby girl" he whispered. Then he was gone.

I felt like someone just kicked me in the stomach. Like I was on the floor gasping for air and no one noticed. I needed to make a decision and I had to do it fast. I had two options.

Break things off with Michael and go back to being in an abusive relationship.

or

Stay with Michael and risk ruining his career. His whole life. Everything he's been working so hard for.

Fuck.
