Chapter 12 - A Message in A Bottle

They arrived at the restaurant after around one hour drive, and he hastily went to the kitchen to prepare for the General Manager's lunch.

He would cook a Szechuan Soup for him because he knew that it was one of his favorite meals. So he prepared to cook it properly by carefully choosing the ingredients, the seasonings, and other things.

And... finally, he's done.

He put the last three ingredients into the soup. Vinegar, white pepper and sesame oil. Then he went to his room to changed into clean clothes.

Everybody was busy with their own work while waiting for the General Manager to come.

Including Yue.

She looked around her surroundings carefully, cautiously as she tried to find a chance to ruin his 'cooking', and finally, the chance was coming.

One person announced that The General Manager was already on his way towards the restaurant, and he would come around five more minutes, so all the chefs went to greet him at the front of the restaurant, leaving her alone in the kitchen. So, she did it as fast as she could. Pouring more vinegar and white pepper into the soup before she ran towards the restaurant and waited with the others.

Then the General Manager finally arrived.

"Good day, everyone."

"Good day, Sir." All of them answered.

"How's everyone?"

"We are fine, Sir."

"Where's your head chef?"

"I am here, Sir." He said, bowing his head down as he walked towards the restaurant while bringing the big bowl of soup and put the soup onto the table. "Have a seat." He said as he pulled the chair for him to sit.

"So... what are you cooking for me today, Chef Wang?"

"A Szechuan soup, Sir."

"I see... You really know my favorite food, don't you?" He smiled.

"Of course, Sir. I already knew you for quite a long time."

The General Manager nodded. "Okay." He then walked towards the table and told Dylan to sit in front of him. So he waited for him to sit before taking a small bowl of soup for him.

"Sir, enjoy your meal."

And he began to eat.

then...

He coughed uncontrollably, his face turned as red as crimson, shocking everyone.

Well... except Yue. A slight smirk tugged at her lips as she was screaming in happiness inside.

I did it! Yes!

Prepare to lose your job, my dear boss!

Everybody was panicked. Nicki ran to take another glass of water for the General Manager.

"Dylan! Are you trying to kill me?" The General Manager finally could talk after they gave him two glasses of water.

Dylan was confused, "What happened?"

"Try it yourself!" He shouted as he shook his head in disbelief.

Feeling confused, Dylan then took a spoon of soup and tasted it, and he got the same reaction as the General Manager.

He was coughing uncontrollably and his face turned as red as crimson.

Nicki immediately gave him a glass of drink, and before he finished his drink, the General Manager suddenly said, "I think it's already the time for you to quit your job as a Head Chef. I will fire you as a head chef from this restaurant." he said firmly, and made all of them stunned.
